I have a Black WiiU with acces to the Homebrew Launcher.

I used Haxchi and a VC to put the HBL in the main menu.

Does this mean that I am ready to use WUP Installer to install games?

Also, if I am able to install games can I play them online?

I have read a bunch of stuff but I'm a little lost. Any answer will be much appreciated.

I read in a tutorial that I need to launch Haxchi everytime I boot up the console. And that I need to set up Coldboot Haxchi to override this. Does this apply in my case?

You need to setup Haxchi to autoboot to sysmenu. It needs to be launched everytime system was rebooted. Just look at wiiubru.com/guide [Haxchi time! section] or my redNAND-free guide [Haxchi section] and you should see how to change config.txt.
CBHC just Coldboots Haxchi and instantly launches desired thing.

Like i said, CBHC is only coldboot solution for Haxchi.
Just go with obsolete Haxchi.

Ok. So if I understand correctly. I can't just play a game immediately after boot but first I have to launch Haxchi?

Sure you can, Felek666 is wrong.
You can play every Wii U game without launching Haxchi.

You only need haxchi for Virtual console and these Eshop games like terraria (forgot the name)

"Every game" *cough* You're wrong here, Legit games*
Some Legit Games will require sigpatching if fake DLC is present.
eShop, VC and other various crap is fake signed.

It depends on whether the combination of (game + update, if any + DLC, if any) are "legit" [signed by Nintendo for your console or all consoles]

If all of those titles* related to a game are legit, it will start even without CFW (which Haxchi can perform as one); else a CFW will be required.

You don't risk anything by forgetting to run CFW - you will just get a misleading "The NNID that purchased this was deleted" error :)

* You may have heard of "contenthax": this concept means you can edit a game's files (but not its executable) and still have it working without CFW if it worked without CFW before, but let's keep this for a later level :)

You didn't mentiond anything about DLC's

As far as i have tested them they still boot but without the dlc.

As i have said VC and these EShop games need a sig patch.
EVERY other "normal"/Retail Wii U game will boot just fine.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
