I have been using brazilian usb method with eur Wii U for some time now.

Yesterday, I installed haxchi to use homebrew launcher with no internet connection.

Today I dumped my nand to SD card and then ran rednand for the first time.

My question is, can I still launch the homebrew channel with haxchi when I'm inside rednand? Also, can I install any ticket games in rednand with wupinstaller?

Also, Do I still need the fw.img file on the SD card?

Are there any specific things I shouldn't be doing when inside rednand?

Thanks

Sure, since you installed Haxchi prior to dumping your NAND you should be able to launch it.

Yes. You need the fw.img file.

Do whatever you want in redNAND if you did something to brick it you'd just brick redNAND. The one exception is installing a system update. From what I uderstand, a system update still touches something in the actual NAND and would probably brick your console.

However, why even use redNAND in the first place? Now you can Just use a sigpatched sysNAND to be able to launch eShop only, VC, DLC, and out of region games. redNAND is a totally unnecessary layer if you're just going to be installing stuff. redNAND takes 32ish GB of space on your SD card and offers no advantages except System Config Tool. SCT is cool and all but I hardley think it makes redNAND worth it. Everything you installed to sysNAND before the dump is launchable on redNAND but anything you install afterwords won't be unless you also install it on redNAND and vice versa. Yeah, redNAND can be bricked without consequence but you're not going to brick your sysNAND by installing games anyways. However, do what you feel.

Yeah, I had heard of that sigpatched thing. I suppose I was just experimenting. I also heard someone say formatting the system, whilst in rednand, would also brick 'it' (don't know if, by 'it', they meant rednand or sysnand?)

I haven't installed system config tool yet. I can't seem to find much info on what it actually does? Well I've seen the black menu with things on there. Can you change the consoles region? Can rednand just play any region of game without SCT?

If you format redNAND you brick redNAND. I liked SCT because you can do useless but geeky stuff like view crash logs, export/import saves to/from an SD card, the title installer has a few more features than WUPinstaller (progress bar, ability to install from any directory, and would delete the junk data if the title failed to install), and it could launch out of region games. Launching out of region games was the killer feature for me but ever since IOSU got region patching (Nov 18th I think) that feature is meaningless. Other than that it has some other features that were over my head so I didn't mess with them. Just make sure that if you do want to install SCT that you are in redNAND. If you're in sysNAND you will brick.

redNAND can now play out of region titles (as long as you have the newer fw.img) and so can sysNAND after you boot CFW or use that new sigpatching .elf that Dimok made.
