It's not perfect, but consider this. A PSP 3000 is $130 and comes with no mem stick. A go costs just $20 more and has 16 GB's built in. Sounds better doesn't it?

Considering you can just hack the PSP Go now, not bad.
$150 for the system, AND the memory, and if you know what you're doing, all the games and homebrew you want.

Well, with this the price difference between the 3000 and Go isn't as large, it's more of a viable option since the 6.x firmwares are getting better.

That is only one of many in the list of F**K the user things that sony did with the PSP go

Other things are:
no UMD to digital downloads for US market, they renigged on this one.
smaller screen.
piss poor download selection
piss poor digital equivalent of UMD game
had to go and change external media to something smaller and more expensive.
etc.

Eh, still not too great of a price. It sounds cheap, but the original DS was $150 at launch. The PSP Go is kind of old now.
