Umm I'm pretty certain that the 360 has a Triple Core @ 3.2Ghz, so it's not exactly comparable tbh

Oh boy, it's going to be like the PSP all over again.

It isn't about the specs and power Sony. It's about the games.

"...rival the Xbox 360 in processing power..."

And if, indeed, true, this will be the reason Nintendo once again beats out Sony in the handheld space. More horsepower will mean expensive hardware, likely placing the cost of the system well above the anticipated $250 (USD) price point of 3DS, which, by the way, will likely come down to $199 within a year's time of launch.

If this is true, the PSP2 is gonna be a beast.

The only reason I can see why a system would need all that power is for homebrew. I've yet to see a game that actually uses the fullest potential of one of Sony's consoles, so we're actually paying for more crap than we need.

Well, fuck. Why not add 397,324 Cores and a 543,667,243,234 THz processor whilst you're at it, Sony?

How much will this PSP2 cost?

    $9999

A 543,667,243,234 terahertz processor? That's far too weak. 543,667,243,234 yottahertz sounds more reasonable. [IMG]

If it's all digital, that's gonna suck. Especially for people with low bandwidth.

To add it can also do 2 threads per core, although I hear that this feature is rarely used since the cache size on the die is rather small so its tough to juggle that much data through the pipe.

Still I consider the 360 CPU to be pretty damn nice.
