Weird, I figured Nintendo would have just released a firmware update for the 3DS to block it. I wonder why they went this route.

Sky3DS acts like a real game cart. Updates cannot block it.

My understanding was smealum's stuff won't run commercial games without the actual game cart.
Any of your modifications to the game should run without issue because you're booting the actual game cart; AP checks should pass because it's a real, actual cart.

Those USA Yo Kai Watch cartridges must have been produced a while back and been laying in warehouse a while. Which firmware is included on the cart?

edit: had a look myself. Yo Kai Watch actually comes with newer firmware on cart (9.9) than the European retail Shovel Knight (9.8), so it's weird they didn't enable the AP flag.

edit2: could be they put in an AP flag in another location sky3ds also can't put into their template... just to screw with people. I'm sure there is more than one byte not covered by the sky3ds template.

There's an easy way to check for the 0X1FE flags, using Psycos CTR for 3DS roms. I haven't downloaded the roms yet because of a limited bandwidth and it would be an entire waste of it, if it was AP flagged.

If they haven't added it to their template it's because people haven't requested it from them. I know where they get their rom info, it's from some Baidu website that's in Chinese and it has most of the releases from team venom and pussycat and other stuff, what ever new rom is posted there is what they add to the template. Also because people strip the header and sends them the rom info and SHA1. For some odd reasons US roms barely get posted on that site which is why Sky team is vigilant with Japanese roms but slow as fuck with English ones.

SKY3DS owner here, obviously. Ready to cry. Is there a master list of games that are unplayable? I was really looking forward to many new games to come... This also explains why the template has barely been updated. If it shows up on the template, does that make it safe to play?

I mean, the $90 piece of hardware paid for itself after the first 3 games and I've gotten many more than that. I could buy the legit carts for the games I most need to have, but the rest of them... *sigh*

I can't believe this first started happening in August! I just heard about it an hour ago!


Edit: Also, can we post links? I've never had to wonder before. There's a link to SKY - 3DS dot com that indicates you can get around the AP with SKY3DS with firmware up to 10.2

Sky3DS team also replied to my template I sent them, they said they will update it soon, probably tonight, or tomorrow. Yokai watch is the next Pokemon, if they delay this template, there's going to be alot of unhappy consumers.
