why not buy the real game ?
if you really want that game, buy it , its not main line zelda game anyway
Ah, you see, Nintendo decided to do something very unwise with the region blocking. Where I live I was never able to play the demo, not even once online. Since it's not main line Zelda and the region locking makes it impossible where I live. I thought I'd give the real game a go before buying it. Else completely pass on it. It's definitely not worth $40 since it doesn't have a storyline.

Thanks for the double check. I guess it's no surprise that anything Nintendo franchised is a no go. The Skyteam days are numbered which sort of sucks. If they don't figure out a way without the need for another overpriced green button (shrug), then they're pretty much screwed.

I agree with Misledz.. IF its a online game (which it is) Then i will buy the real copy if i want to play it. I only got Sky for offline JRPG and adventure games and thats it. So i have no problem with it.

Apparently not. Our ping is around 200~270 with US West or US East which according to them is an experience one would likely not be happy with.

I don't know if this is proof or not that new upcoming games are still going to work, but I downloaded the new dragonball butoden game that came out a few days ago... the template file for sky3ds came out 3 days ago and the game works on it... I already downloaded Triforce Heroes, I'm just not playing it now because the template file hasn't been updated yet to support the game... Are you saying that template files are going to stop coming? Sorry if it looks a confusing post, I'm portuguese...

If it's from Nintendo. It won't come out at all. Atleast not right now.

Right now nope. Only way to play them is via gateway.
Work fine on rxtools emunand - so not just Gateway.
cant those AP be patched on the backup itself ? if i remember some nds games could be patch to bypass wathever AP they used back then .
Yes, the AP can be patched (hence the games working as CIA on emunand etc), but Sky3ds won't run modified roms.

Not all, but most interesting.

I asked the question, and I have a standard answer.
"We are still working for a solution for AP check. Thanks for your patience."
Hope it goes forward.
They've been saying that for 4 months now. Their only solution is to come up with a new cart with an upgradable chipset. The current one doesn't allow that, so in before green button.

I asked the sky team about a new flashcard for the newer games. They answered me that they're working on it and doubt it that they release another flashcard. Good things take time

If they never release another flashcard, then Sky users will never be able to play those AP games as the current Sky in non-upgradeable.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
