Program that convers a DVD movie to a AVI file

Is there any program that will convert a whole DVD to a single AVI file or other type of media file? I know of DVD Decryper but it only gives you .vob .ifo .bup files. Any way I could convert those to a single video file?

There are all-in-one DVD rippers out there, like #1 DVD Ripper, but you usually don't get the extras and stuff. It's better to learn how to do it on your own so you can better control quality and content -- check out doom9 or tutorials (or at least there used to be tutorials on there). Also check out Gordian Knot.

I second the doom9.net suggestion. Auto Gordian Knot (go to guides, mpeg4, xvid, Auto Gordian Knot) is the way I go.

I used to use DVDX but it was a while ago, not converted to avi in a long time.
