Hacking Problem updating R4iGold from r4ids.cn, Revision C

Updated mine but I'm now getting "An error has occurred" on black screen. Is a Dorasu icon, but I can't get it to load anymore.
I didn't updated the 3DS yet.

it updates anddd... SysNDSi 1.43&3DS3.0.0-6? Wha?

Just curious... has anyone tried doing this update for the DSi, then doing the older 3DS update that wouldn't work on the bad Rev C cards to see if it would go through?

It sounds like the DSi update can at least complete on these cards, so perhaps it fixes the issue the other update has with finding certain information within the card? I can't test this myself since I'm not at home.

Doesn't work, but common sense truly comes into play here. I suppose the team at r4ids could have over-looked this detail, but they haven't. I think they'll get another update out, if their website is taken at face value.

i tried it updated my card this patch first ndsl and success dorasu icon with japanese marks working with earlier 3ds firmware 4.3.0-10 and ndsl unfortunetly no 3ds xl 4.5.0-10 error occured screen appear. We have to wait 3ds only patch unfortunetly.

I've tested the update with my DSi (firmware 4.5.0-10) and it works (even with a "problem card"). My previous icons were "Metroid Prime Hunters Demo" and "Dorasu". However, it doesn't work with the 3DS.

wtf how gay,at this rate Nintendo will have a new update out by the time these guys fix the C cards and why in the hell would you revision a card with the same letter "version" but its a different chip..... .. Chinese people.

Im about to chunk this card and go with DS Two I havent been able to use this card since I bought it.

It's the same hardware but another firmware. I don't know the real reason for the problems with the update. But we compared the hardware revision (one card that passed the update and one that failed) and they were the same.

Why haven't they just developed some kind of update that re-flashes the bad cards to a lower, basic version of the firmware, then have people update it to the working card's version, and then just update normally to the current version? It may be more steps for customers, but if you bought one of these cards, then it's not like you're completely clueless. This is just incredibly frustrating.

Maybe it's not that easy to re-flash a bad card... maybe the new cards have a new firmware and not a basic version...

The latest PCB pictures I've are the "problem" C PCB ( Metroid Icon) and the "newest" C PCB (Konami Icon ) with a white 1 near the processor

ok maybe they had problems with the golden block (YXC 40.0UIK and WGW 40mhz). It's the single difference hardware whise I find.

ok maybe they had problems with the golden block (YXC 40.0UIK and WGW 40mhz). It's the single difference hardware whise I find.

Both oscillators (yxc and wgw ) are used on the "new" PCB C Batches. The "winbond" of the problem-cards is the better/faster 25Q16 version. All upgradable PCB's I've seen use the 25X16 version. That's the reason I'm looking for clear photo's of the (older) PCB's

The DSi update ran, though the card check/model data never showed in the updater.
I don't remember the first icon, but it's the review sample I got, maybe the review has it listed (it broke, did a few STRL+F searches, can't find what it was in that mess).
New icon is the japanese Dorasu one.
And yeah this thing's had a few updates for DSi/3DS compatibility, it's one of the oldest models they mention.

Sorry to be 'that guy' here again, but has anyone heard any news regarding a future update? Considering it's been almost 2 months without word of a reliable update that works for us unlucky users, I'm starting to get a tad impatient.

What's the other recommended 3DS Flashcart? Was it the DSTWO? Does anyone know the cheapest UK price for that?
