Hacking PRELOADER IS NOT A RISK

At the "black screen of death" comment.

I had a black screen with it testing out settings when I switched the menu IOS to one that wasn't supported, I just held reset and changed IOS back to the correct one.

I think preloaders a great app for people that test channels, or install injects etc.

I do worry about what Wiipower said though about what if you format, but I don't think I'll ever do that myself though.

But it makes your WII slow.

?? It may boot up a tad bit slower, but how gives a damn. After the Sysmenu is loaded you'll won't notice any difference.

It really depends on how you use it, for example one of my Wii's (testing wii) I used to boot, go to homebrew channel, boot apps.
So preloader allows me to skip some of this depending on the app and either boot to HBC, or the app itself.

As for making your Wii slower if you're not doing something like this, I can't even time the milliseconds extra it adds, if it's taking longer than 0.1 of a second maybe you have another problem.

Btw I have a couple of Wii's and just booted them at the same time side by side.

Before I upgraded to 4.0, I had a lot of "junk" on my Wii's and one in particular took a lot longer to boot, this was because imo a lot of .tiks etc left behind.

This happend to me too when I installed preloader 0.29 on my 3.2E wii, but then when I updated to 4.0E and reinstalled preloader it didn't touch my wads. Maybe it's just a bug, or was part of that april fools prank the app does.

I think it was an april fools joke. It happened to me on April 1st. All channels were deleted except the 2 that I actually bought. It was a cruel joke as to this day my sister is so mad that she lost all her pokemon in pokemon ranch.

Yeah, that April Fools Joke was real funny. ;( What next? Can hardly wait until next April 1rst. Maybe as another really funny joke, they'll have it erase all your USB HD games. Man, wouldn't that be funny!! That just might be the deciding factor in my decision to try Preloader or not.

I ran preloader a few times on April first and it didn't delete any of my channels. It just acted like a brick in that it wouldn't boot until about the 4th try. At that point it was fine I just changed the date.

So where are you getting this "it deleted my pirated wads" crap? Sounds like it's something you're making up...

i installed preloader after six months of starfall glory but i miss the launch tutorials so whats the hacks.ini stuff and how do i install/enable them

a) get a hacks.ini file from somewhere for your system menu
b) put it on the sd card called hacks.ini
c) run preloader
d) select system menu hacks
e) enable the ones you want
