Rayder do you realize that every time you update the cheat.dat we have to select the DS brightness cheat for each game every time. It's not your fault but it is annoying.

And about the brightness cheat - you can't have that on and the R4 real time cheat at the same time because it will crash the game when you try to change the brightness.

All cheat settings are reset when you update the cheats. I've known that since I started maintaining the dat.

As for the brightness setting codes......I have soft reset on and the brightness codes work for me. Keep in mind that not ALL games will react the same way to the code.....some don't work with it at all (Eragon DS), sometimes it causes fruity game problems (Zelda - sound mutes), but most of the time, it works just fine.

Like it says in my sig, I can't guarantee all codes work. Just use what does work for you.

That's not what I meant.

You know the R4 has an option to enable/disable real time cheats? Well if you enable it and you also choose the backlight cheat, when you got to press L, R, Select and Up/Down to change brightness it crashes the game. This is because the real time enable/disable uses similar buttons. It's not your fault but I just wanted to make you all aware of this.

If the backlight code used a different button sequence it wouldn't interfere with the real time enable/disable.

I never use real-time cheat anyway. Yep, codes can conflict.....it happens.

I didn't make the codes, I just put 'em in the dat.

I was wondering if there are any Tony Hawks: Proving Ground codes out there? I love that game and I think it would be fun if there were any like moon jump codes.

ta Rayder. Is the usrcheat.dat in your sig the most updated?

Actually, it's an encrypted cheat.dat now and not a usrcheat.dat anymore, but yeah, the one in my sig is ALWAYS the latest one. It focuses mostly on (U) and (E) games, but many of the more popular (J) games are in there too. It currently weighs in at 2.08megs. It has nearly 500 games in it. 492 by my quick-count, which includes region dupes or alternate GameID's.

It's core is based off of the latest official R4 cheat.dat, but it has been constantly added to by GBAtemp members and myself for a few months now. I'd say it's about 85% (rough estimate) of all DS games that have AR codes. This dat is provided exclusively to GBAtemp.net and its members. I don't announce it anywhere else.

It gets updated nearly everyday. Feel free to use it however you like, but please don't post links to it anywhere else.....the link name changes every time I update it, which would render any link you might post useless real quick. If you want to tell people about it, point them to GBAtemp.net and this thread.

Encrypted cheat.dat? like the R4 team make once in a blue moon? I didn't think you could do that (tho im sure there's be a way)
Im sure I've download a usrcheat.dat off you before.

Anyway thank, and i'll be clicking on your link plenty of times

Keep up the good work

Does anyone else run into the problem of the Cheat Code Editor v0.4 English (R4CCE) program not showing all your game entries when you load up the usercheat.dat? I had like 50+ entries, and when I load them up, only about 15 games show up...

It can be encrypted into a cheat.dat by using the editor found here:

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=1101

Ahh I've already got that, I was told when I got my R4 (ages ago) that the cheat.dat couldn't be edited and you had to do the usrcheat.dat and the 0kb cheat.dat way.

Oh well, bloody lying kids lol Ta for the info
Nobody lied to you. When the R4 team first included the cheat function in firmware v1.08, you couldn't edit the cheat.dat. Usrcheat.dat was the only way we could use custom codes. Then the mighty chishm released r4crypt, and the rest is history.

Hay Rayder, do you think you can post the digits to what the US codes to Sonic Rush Adventure are?

I recently found some codes, and I wanted to see if they were any different, as the ones in your cheat.dat lock up the game for the most part.

why don't you just download his DAT file and open it with the tool posted a few posts above this one? then you can see the exact codes in the list...
