The latest game from IO Interactive, 007 First Light launched earlier this year to some pretty positive reception. Originally slated to release on PC, Xbox Series, PS5, and Switch 2, the latter release got pushed back to a Summer 2026 window to allow the team more time to polish the experience. Today IO have released a statement essentially saying they need more time still, with that date again pushed back to March 2027. You can find their full statement below:

IO Interactive said:
Today we would like to provide an update on the Nintendo Switch 2 release of 007 First Light.

We know many of you have been looking forward to experiencing Bond's reimagined origin story on Nintendo Switch 2, and we greatly appreciate your enthusiasm. To ensure we deliver the quality of experience players expect, we have made the decision to delay the release to March 2027, with the exact date to be communicated later. This additional time will go toward polishing the Nintendo Switch 2 performance of the game.

We were thrilled by the positive feedback on 007 First Light at gamescom, and it's a great sign of the progress being made across the whole game as we head toward launch. The same demo will be playable at Tokyo Game Show this week, so please join us there if you would like a hands-on experience. We will share further updates as soon as we are ready. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support.

The game's Switch 2 demo was well-received at gamescom last month, giving fans hope that the final release will be one worth picking up.

You have a right to your opinion, and regardless of what you say, Nintendo still doesn't have a single exclusive that is a system seller.

And as far as I'm concerned, Sony hasn't been a so called s-show!

True they didn't have as many exclusives as the PS3 and PS4, but they really had no reason to drop a bunch of games.

Xbox who is supposed to be their competitors, hasn't dropped anything, they were tit for tat, previous generations, pushing each other to drop, blockbusters.

But to say in 6 years, they've dropped nothing is insulting and rude.

I guess R&C Rifted Apart, Ghost of Yotei, Demon Souls, Saros, Astro Bot, Wolverine, Spider-man 2, Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima DC, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, Gran Turismo 7, MLB The Show Series, Helldivers 2, Uncharted Legacy of Thieves, Until Dawn Remake, Death Stranding 2, Marathon, Returnal, Lego Horizons, Horizons Call of the Mountain , Days Gone Remastered- are nothing games now?

- and the remastered versions of TLOU 1 and 2, which they've released those so many times, I really didn't want to include them, but they did look a heck of a lot better and play better.

They definitely released games, we can't be naive about that.

People act like they just been sitting on their hands and not releasing games, when they have.

Nintendo - gave you ports, MK World, Donkey Kong, Mario Tennis, Kirby Riders, Star Fox 64 again, and a Paid Tutorial App, and Paywalled so called upgrades for texture packs.

I will give Sony credit and Xbox credit...when you run Xbox One games on XSX, the graphics boost and improvements are 100% free.

When you run PS4 games on PS5, the graphics boost and improvements are 100% free. - And the differences are noticeable 100%.

- And the $10 upgrades for TLOU, GOW RR, and Days Gone - for the remasters - BIG Difference in graphics and gameplay.
I am calling them a shitshow, because that is what they currently are and have been for some time now. There is a whole list of fuckups I could write, but it would take too much time and would ruin my mood too much to list them all. Most of the games you listed, are either cross-gen, multiplatform, not first party, remasters/remakes or a mix of these things. They can't be considered when talking about PS5 itself, because they exist outside of it.

Among all the ones you listed, only Demon Souls (which I consider a butchering of the original), Wolverine (which is a horrible game, but supposed to be a system seller somehow), Astro Bot and Yotei are exclusive to the PS5. I am surprised you didn't list Gran Turismo 7, but that one is cross gen, so.....again, not relevant.

Idk why do you also include 3rd party games like Stellar Blade or Rise of the Ronin also. SB in particular is a proof against Sony, not for them, since they no longer work with them directly. Why do you think is that?

I can't say they released much. I am talking first party. Remasters I can't consider in good faith, ever personally. Very few new IPs and sequels that were for a lot of people disappointing. Spider-Man 2 sure was that. Yotei in terms of the narrative also, but this is coming second hand, so who knows what is the reality of that one.

As for Nintendo, you failed to include quite a few games. Like the new Splatoon game, Ocarina of Time that is coming in 2 months, new Fire Emblem game that is coming out around now also, Pokopia, etc. They have more than enough what I would consider a 'system seller'. I certainly don't see them any less than what Sony has. And all of those things are only on Switch 2.

"Upgrades" you speak of for XBOX and Playstation are heavily dependent on the game and whether it gets any 'next-gen upgrade. Bloodborne isn't getting anything for example. It still doesn't run good and from what I saw, looks the same as it does on PS4. Thank GOD it can be played on ShadPS4 perfectly (which I have done last April). As for these $10 'upgrades' you speak for those 3 games, outside TLOU, I don't see what is the 'big difference' in gameplay. Even looks outside TLOU, I didn't see much........ But, I care little for them in the first place and have no intention of playing them in, so it doesn't matter much.

Going back to your first paragraph, I don't see how does Switch 2 NOT have anything that is a system seller. MKWorld, Bananza, Splatoon, Pokopia, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave and Ocarina of Time sure look like system sellers to me. I just can't see how are these games lacking in any way compared to PS5-only titles. Ig, if you only consider production value, but I find that to be a poor measurement. Countless very expensive games have failed and will fail in the future. Sony has a lot of experience with that this gen.

That's like, totally yer opinion. Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, Kirby's Air Riders and Metroid Ravenous are undoubtedly system sellers, and if you count remakes OoT remake is as well. At least fer my dad.
