I've recently bought physical Wii games again to play Wii mods, such as Animal Crossing: City Folk Deluxe or Newer Super Mario Bros.
Also made the mistake of buying a PAL Smash Bros. Brawl copy, but that's beyond the topic.
One constant thing that those modpacks warn about when using Riivolution on the vWii is that Riivolution crashes the console when attempting to exit to the main menu.
The thing that surprises me, however, is that within the time frame Riivolution still had updates, it hasn't had this issue fixed.
What's worse is, despite the source being available, no one seems to have forked it or even created a better solution for it!? I also see complaints of the forwarder channel being unusual and a tad glitchy, as well as complaints of usability when having multiple modpacks.
Why is that so? Is it really a “bug” as they all say, or is it just an actual limitation of vWii?
Outside of having to create a homebrew dedicated loader app, is using your own loader better for loading on-disk mods (as CTGP-R, Retro Rewind, and Project+ do, where they could just rely on Riivolution like many of their acolytes project for the same games)?
