Sorry, but why can't your just create your own pokemon? it only takes a few clicks

Because creating legitimate pokemon takes time and research. You could just hack up a crazy statted one in 10 seconds, sure. But creating a balanced and wi fi allowed one takes time and checking stats, PP, etc.

Well the base stats are different for each pokemon, even of the same species. Each can be between 0-31, randomly. Sure there is research on the PP tho

also im sure you dont want a Dialga that is said to be caught at level 3 on Route 201 do you? I wouldn't It would be so obvious that you hacked that i wouldnt even touch it.

Well to be honest, I won't be using the editor for adding pokemon until I finish the E4. And even then, it'll be for the event pokemon. Since there are only about 50 unobtainable pokemon in the game, what's the point in adding pokemon that you can get legitimately.

The whole point in the game is catching pokemon, not adding them. I'm not bashing adding pokemon, I'm just saying that the pkm files aren't really useful for their uses, when you can do it a much quicker way. Since most people will be adding pokemon without giving a blind eye to legitimacy.

I don't think 'most' people will at all.
I created some legitimate pokemon because I wanted them on my team, and wanted to train them up as normal, in the Diamond environment.
Other people also do this.

What I did had been trying to take over some lv100 from the GB red version. This had been a bit of a hazzle to get done as certain attributes don't match up ( GB had only 'Special' but diamon has Special-Att and Special-Def ). So far I though managed to reproduce them 1:1 ( in terms of stats ) on the diamond version. Damn long time since I played with my good old lv100 charizard

. That's nice for a bit of nostalgic feeling. I would not use those created ones on somebody unless he's accepting it ( they are all marked so it's obvious which are the GB ones I edited in ). So this is really just for the fun of it and not to cheat shit. Finished the game beforehand so there's nothing new there except this little editor

EDIT: BTW the stats are not simply plug-n-play. The stats modifiers ( 0-31 and 0-255 ) are not so trivial in how they affect the end stats. Had to fiddle quite some time until I managed to hit exactly the stats values I had on the GB version. Some I could not get matched ( +1 or -1 in a stat or two ) as it looks like the calculation formula changed slightly.

I think this is a great idea, because when I want to add pokemons, I want to make their stats as accurate as possible. Thx for the starter pokemons btw.

floor(EV points / 6) = Stat points at lvl 100 (i.e., 252 Attack EV = 42 Attack points) any higher and it will still be 42 Attack points
max of 510 EV points total on one Pokemon
1 IV = 1 Stat Point at lvl 100 ( 31 Attack IV = 31 Stat points)

Adding some more shortly.

To the people who think this is cheating, simply the fact that you own a flashcard and are posting on these forums makes you ineligible to comment. kthx.

To the others, I will begin making the list nicer and such shortly.

That is really a lame comment, i'm a pirate but I really play the games without cheating...

I would pirate less if europe wouldn't be treated as a god damn 3rd world country when it comes to games

That's right. The problem is though more that you can achieve the same final stat points with various combinations of IV and EV. I simply chose one which matches the stats having though no idea if this is the combination used in the GB version.
