still have my gbc copy. played it all the time but i wish that nintendo would release red\blue\yellow and gold\silver\crystal with a wifi link cable emulation local and over the internet
is this also coming to the USA and Canada?

The game rocks, i was always bummed Nintendo/GameFreak never put out another one of these games.

Never knew this.
As someone who absolutely loved the first game, I looked the game up online years later, and found out it had a sequel. I didn't know about the DS sequel until today, though. I'm surprised there hasn't been any translation projects for them.

Probably cause no one plays the real pokemon tcg anymore (I never played it i did collect the cards tho).

Oh wow, how have I not heard about the DS one?
I always wanted another one of these, loved the original. In fact, I found it far more entertaining to "collect 'em all" than actually walk around for hours upon hours to catch/evolve every Pokemon, giving the TCG games more replay value to me than the main series.

Pokemon X/Y TCG would have been an instant pre-order for me if they announced it. There's a lot of trading card video games out there, but I haven't seen many where the player's character is collecting the cards, not the player themselves, and I always found those to be more enjoyable. They could easily make a Pokemon TCG story that'd outshine X/Y.

from what i understood, the ds game is not a game per see but a tutorial for the TCG game...

the sequel for the gbc was released almost before the gba was released so it never got a translation, i tried to play it but it felt more like an expansion to the first game (maybe because i didnt understand shit)

To me the sequel felt like a romhack, not a proper sequel. Same overworld, same characters, just a different introduction and different things to do.

That makes me less upset that I haven't and never will play it. Damn Japan and their niche games. Rarely get translated.

You know, Pokemon XY has such a deep and unique story, I think it will be hard to make a game with a better story than that :tpi:

Putting off the sarcasm, I never played the TCG games, but I had a deck about 10 years ago. I'm surprised there aren't many games about it,
I also might try this, I had a friend that really adored this game, although he had an awful taste to most games, I think this might be a case where he is right.

There were two translation projects for TCG2, one based on machine translations, one done with the assistance of actual translators. The latter is still unfinished and hasn't seen activity in a while due to a lack of interest, but you can find it here http://tcg2.luminaskies.net/ http://z8.invisionfree.com/TCG2/index.php?

I didn't even know the DS game existed until you posted about it :P

does anybody know, what the new and exclusive cards are? :/ can't find anything about that... would just go ahead and buy it and then probably find it out at some point myself, but sadly I cant get my firmware update to finish on my non-gateway 3ds, so I am stuck with the waiting game until the ninty servers become stable again lol

This game was cool but I'm not sure I'd get it again seeing as I got it when it came out on GBC. Meaning I had already experienced it.

The "exclusive" cards probably just refer to the GB cards that weren't available as physical cards, like the legendary birds.
