I can't even being to explain what's wrong with this comment, but I will anyways.

Just because BoTW has one piece of story DLC does not mean it's ANYWHERE close to the idea that everyone else is talking about. Seriously. You can't begin to compare BoTW to a DLC-based content release system like WoW or Destiny. Try again.

I mentioned these ideas way early in this post, but yes, our ideas are basically the same. I feel Pokemon would do well adjusting their direction.

FIFA and COD are shit games that rehash every three games, then shoot off in a completely new direction to keep things fresh. They're built this way because that's how they operate, and they wouldn't be able to work like Destiny or WoW would because they're so linear. You can't even being to compare them.

Pedro. Please. For the last time, no one is saying anything about turning Pokemon into a full blown MMO. You're taking concepts and going left field with them.

At your current screen. And in heaven
Plot twist: you can play original GB games in this new Pokemon game like a mini game inside another game

I'm not debating FIFA and COD being crap.

Pokemon is far more similar to FIFA and COD than WOW.

Well now I want a 'Super 3DS' cartridge for Switch like Super Gameboy for SNES.

people seem to forget companys make way more money releasing a game every year than dlcs, like people said if cod or fifa or pro evolution soccer or madden or whatever yearly games made more money doing dlcs rather than releasing an entirely new game on the same engine you bet EA or madden would do that but they dont and it makes them millions in sales.

the casual gamer does not go to gaming websites to know if a new dlc exists or is coming out but if they see the game advertised on tv or stores he buys it, so they would loose millions of sales where kids see the game on the store and mom and dad buys it for them.

Let me explain why this is incorrect.

COD: Call of Duty releases every year. It's built on a name-brand. It's part of the reason why it sells well. But, I guarantee you they make WAY more money from microtransactions and shitty DLC map packs than they do from the initial selling of the game. CoD's marketing is like this: they build the grand to sell the game. Selling the game is only a stepping stone to the microtransactions, where the money ACTUALLY comes from.

Also, you're COMPLETELY wrong about EA. If you've been paying a shred of attention to gaming news lately, you'll see how far they're willing to go to fuck over consumers with microtransactions, ie. Battlefront 2. I'm not sure where you got the idea they got more money from releasing full games rather than MTXs. At this point, the game is only a means to an end.

As for gaming websites and DLC and casual gamers, I'm not even sure what you're arguing here. Companies do more than one route of marketing for a reason.

.... What? How is an RPG similar to a FPS or sports game than it is an OPEN WORLD RPG, which is PRECISELY WHAT POKEMON IS. You've gotta be kidding me. xD

diamond and pearl still works fine on 3ds since it can read ds cartriges so far the only remade games were the ones that couldnt be played like gen 1-3 due to 3ds not reading gba or gb games.

to sell dlc and microshit they need to stay relevant how would they sell cosmetic cod crap after the game has 1+year? they wont nobody would care, they moved on to the next game like battlefield or something.

a new game always sells dlc while its hot, after like 5 or 6 months dlc just doesnt stick as well because playerbase moved to the next game from even their competitor like cod to battlefield to cod to whatever newer games comes out.

consoles arent like pcs where you can get millions of players playing the same games after years like counter strike without any addons besides cosmetics and so on, console online multiplayers drop down fast after half an year at best becuase a new game came out and people moved on.

    1. Pokemon isn't a multiplayer game by default. You have trading and online battles, sure, but the core functionality of Pokemon can be enjoyed, even if the servers go offline.
    2. Don't release another pokemon and people will stay on the same game, no place to move on if there isn't another release.
    3. Whose talking about PCs? Whose talking about online multiplayers?
    4. There is nothing else like Pokemon on handheld consoles, and there will be nothing like it on the Switch. Again, nothing to move on to when it releases. It'll be the day when someone can stand up to the behemoth that is the Pokemon Franchise.
    5. By the time people are fed up with pokemon on the Switch (provided that ever happens considering the popularity of the game), they'll have released new content, features and mechanics to keep the game fresh. How are you not seeing this?
    6. Super Smash Bros Melee is 17 years old. Not an RPG or openworld game, but it shows that when you do a game right, the community will do the rest.

I hate it. Its mostly my nostalgia speaking. It just feels like Pokemon when its pixelated.

It doesn't feel like Pokemon anymore.

With the exhaustive lineup of Pokémon we already have, they could certainly just sprinkle a handful of new Pokémon in each region they release (10-20). They won't need to make a new game engine, won't need to make new inventory systems, menu systems, only minor additions to sound track and sound effects (if any), no new battle system, or a whole lot of things they typically start from the ground up with each new game release. What they would need are programmers, story boarders, and design artists for the new Pokémon, buildings, NPCs and the region itself. Since a large portion of the game is already done, I'd say $29.99 USD would be a fair price for a new region. That's $10 less then a 3DS game and $30 less then a whole new Switch game.

Ultimately, I don't think they'll do it. Nor am I sure I would want them to. I just said I've given it some thought. Would it be interesting? Sure. I wouldn't mind an open-world Pokémon game where I play a persistent character and can fight the gyms in any order I want (assuming they scale and use different teams based on how many other gyms I've defeated before them), but realistically I know I shouldn't get my hopes up for something like this. I guess the part that appeals the most would be that I am the Pokémon master and not the character in the game who changes each region, making my lovingly collected Pokémon split across various owners. I want a persistent trainer ID that I keep forever. That's really the only thing I want. If I could import my trainer from game to game that would be cool too.

lol if they made pokemon sprites again people would riot...
sprites are stuff for indie games now, i always liked pokemon stadium, colosseum and shit because of making pokemons 3d and i guess most of the people liked it too, but returning to sprites would kill the games imo.
