Press Y when you run the game or go to the eShop and download the updates. Nothing changes because you have CFW.

It said updating on the bottom screen and I shut off my 2ds and it still has CFW I'm trying to be very careful

Turning it off while downloading the update would likely cause more harm then anything else. Don't do it again or you may lose your game, save or be unable to turn your 3DS on. Updating with CFW is fine.
