It does freeze on desmume, regardless of x86 or x64 build. and speed is entirely dependant on the specs of the users computer.

testing an encrypted dump with FW and nds bios files now.....
will test with SWI emulated afterwards if i get a freeze.

Ok, just opened and closed the menu 40 times...probably not going to crash.


BUT, when I went in and out of a house it froze upon my 21st try (exiting). Black screen. Music still playing.

Well that disproves my theory on it freezing every load other than a block, but the menu froze on me on the 23rd time so it may not be everyone.

It's possible since some carts patched the korean versions already, that part of the AP is already patched. I'm going to guess there's more than one type fo piracy check in the game.

To be fair though, the game isn't exactly loading the menu. It is already there. All youre doing is telling the game you want to use the traditional controls instead of touch screen.

NOTE: These were tested on R4DS 1.18 with YSMenu.

Here's a list of confirmed events.

Transitioning(doors, ladders, etc)
Getting into a battle(might be considered 2 counts, entering and exiting)
Choosing a menu(not fully confirmed)
The sliding puzzle in the ruins(not confirmed)
Loading your save data(not confirmed, would raise the counter to 25 instead of 24)
AFTER saving(THANK GOD!!!!1!)

Here's what DOESN'T trigger counters as far as I know.

Talking to people
Talking to your pokemon
Reading signs
Opening the menu(before selecting anything)
Walking around(not running into wild pokemon)
An ingame event such as someone speaks to you like a trainer battle(not confirmed, may never be)

Very informative, but I'm almost positive the counter goes down as you progress or something.

As I wrote before, I'm at GoldenRod and fuck me if gives me more than 6-8 events.

Are you getting into battles? Like I said there, battles may count as 2 events and not just 1.

Should have added that all of those events were tested on an R4DS 1.18 with YSMenu.

No, actually, just going back from Whitney to the Pokecentah got me a black screen.

Then there was that time I went from Whitney to the daycare, got in a fight on the way, saved and it froze.

I did a transition in sprout tower up some ladders and got to about 23 transitions (maybe 24 and I counted wrong, or it counted me loading my save data)

The music is still playing, but I have a black screen from it going black during the transition.

I cannot soft reset on my CycloDS Evo at this point.

Here are the "events" that freeze my game:
Using RockSmash
Talking with someone that spots you. For example: the guy that give you the Miracle Seed in route 32 (or 33 whatever) or Lyra (?) teaching you how to "catch them all"
Entering a Battle (the pokebal endless rotation)

Hmm, if there's a counter then we can load the game up on an emulator, scan for changes over and over after intiating an event. With that we can pinpoint the address and has our fix

I'm using an M3 so it's like, sav or something? I can always use a converter. And yes it's ze US rom.
