how is a ROM made??
why is it that the ROM is freezing and not the real game??
maybe the "thing" that is causing the freeze on the ROM is activated when it's pirated??

That's the thing everyone wants to know; why does the game recognize it as pirated and how can we fool it into thinking it's not.

Don't trust me on this, it's just a theory of mine but...

Perhaps it's the way that the game reads the card it's on? I 'unno, it could have something to do with the way ROMs are packed?

Most flashcarts emulate the init of the NDS bios files.

Hell yeah. I know how that is. It's like "If you can't afford the game, then go get a job!" Hell, there's barely any jobs available.

I doubt it, and if there was, the next version of Pokesav would have a "Pokewalker Synced?" checkbox.

So, I keep hearing 1.57 cyclods firmware has it working without freezing.

What I want to know is, the people that are saying this; how are into the game are you?

Freezes didn't start happening until the first badge, for me, and gradually became worse as I progressed, becoming completely unplayable after goldenrod. Using 1.58b1

Anyone with 1.57 make it to goldenrod without ANY freezing?

anyways, I'm thinking the AP is linked to the IR, maybe it has a checker? (do X number of "events", check IR, comes back negative, PIRATE ALERT!! RUN CRASH CODE!) maybe finding the trigger for the IR will help...
