It has a purpose, Toni. Could trigger something in someone's mind that knows how to fix things. This is mean't a both a "screw you" for going on a closing rampage, but also a place for discussing this particular topic. At least keep 1 thread open. I know that other one was full of junk, but it seems you just went on a rampage.

Since this thread seemed to go off topic quite quickly, rules:

Only talk about possible ways to fix the Pokemon HG/SS problem, DON'T just say what you are using and that it works/doesn't and don't ask if it works on w/e card.
Stay on topic.
Try to be helpful

The problem is that for like every 1 person that cares to help there is 100 there to complain and ruin it.
Quite a handful of other websites doing the same thing, so another one really isn't need. When it's fixed, you'll know. etc.

The more people at it, the more ideas there are, the more likely/sooner it'll get fixed. This is a case where this actually applies. It's stupid to have a bunch of threads at one site going about the same thing, but it's also stupid to not allow any.

I don't have any problem with my HG/SS Pokemon. I'm using AKAIO RC 1.6

Playing that game over 2 hours and having no problem with that.

at least have a place where people can talk and discuss about it..
isnt this the point of a forum?
even though not a lot of us are skillful enough to be the ones that patch it,
at least we can talk and discuss about it

1 all emulators will eventually freeze with this rom
2 freezes happen at random unlike the jap version
3 fix must be able to hit all adressess
4 possible reason game released early may not be the proper rom may not be fully released to the actual date
5 freezing occurs predomniately based on evidence only on nosgba n many of the flash card devices
6 desmume emulator does not happen as often problem could also be in the graphics engine rather then the game play


possible suggestion any one who understands programing look into the graphics engine or mapping rather then the gameplay mechanics to find fix

Some ideas that have crossed my mind and others minds as a fix;

Possibly finding a way to disable DMA (one of my friends stated this was working elsewhere and that some cards let you do it while others don't)
If anyone has a debugger version of no$, monitoring the memory and disassemble with each crash, possibly finding addresses that point to things like using menus and going to/from buildings, to see if these points are being written some kind of code that would possibly be the AP method

A friend in RL told me that there *is* a small chance that these could be bad dumps, but it would be very small since I agree with him when he says he doubts out of 2 dumps that both would end up the same so it most likely has to do with certain game instances causing a trigger to kill the game.

that wont work the jap versions anti pirating is on a single fixed address the us is on multiple addresses and is far more random and harder to find based on more research it seems based on actions made by the play @on rand int action (battles/speech, etc,) the freeze occurs i'm bout to try a patch i found on another website i cant say the name due to the nature of the site however if it works i'll post a link

I can confirm that DMA on or off on DSTT isn't working

Changing the Arm9 only - rom freezes in boot

Changing Arm7 - no change

Changing Arm9 and Arm7 - Slower boot and no change

I even decided to try changing the DS's date forward to march 15th just to see if it would help for some reason so before anyone suggests it that didn't help either
