Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen keep crashing (black screen) at the start up [3DS Homebrew VC]

I have been searching for this online of other people having this issue but it seems I'm the only one with it. So I've done my usual injecting the gba roms into cias, but I have never came across this one. After I had got done injecting the cias into my 3DS and booting FireRed/LeafGreen up, they seem to boot up fine initially with their copyright dates but after this I get a black screen and with this crash sounding noise like as if you'd take out the gba cartridge out as the game is running on real hardware. When I got the games to run on Retroarch they boot up just fine. Am I missing something here? I usually figure things out on my own by web searching but this left me completely puzzled.

EDIT: Turns out its working after having turned off my 3DS and turning it back on, I still don't know why it did that.

    @Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!

    I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
