Hacking Playing ROM hacks w/o gateway + repacked roms?

Is there in theory a method that would allow ROM hacks to be played, other than using a gateway/clone to play repacked ROMs?

Upcoming homebrew loader won't allow that.

only way to do so is CFW or GW.



If you want go into the possibility of insanity,
yes, everything is possible.

But who is going to do it?

It is so painstakingly tedious that they'll probably make it a *not free* option,
which is pointless to you,

Hence why you are asking for an option *without gateway*

yeah the leaked cfw....but still only on 4.x

Since the 7.x keys have leaked, can't someone make a 7.x-based CFW? Or am I missing something?

I don't mind system version/difficulty/price requirements.

So the current possibilities are:

• playing modded ROMs with gateway

or

• installing modded CIAs with the devmenu?

Or have a completely misunderstood something?

I'm not sure if it is possible with a *free only* solution, but at the end of the day it's alot easier and simpler to just use GW with the multirom menu instead of fiddling with CIA, importing, waiting for it to be installed etc. etc.
