I have a 3.3U Wii with the latest version of Homebrew installed, I also have BootMii installed (it came with the latest update from HBC). I would like to play the original copy of NSMB but when I insert it into my Wii it asks for a Wii System Update. I browsed around and saw some sites that said it would be safe to update through the Wii but I am still hesitant as I do not want my Wii to brick, I mainly use it for emulators but would like to try out NSMB.

What would you suggest I do? Please help me.

I think you can update the wii, there should be no risk for you, because you have the new homebrew channel installed. You need to reinstall bootmii after updating.
