Hacking Play Guitar Hero 5 via disc Channel( Cioscorp users) Works perfectly &

hey i was wondering when i try to run game like
ill get wii saftey crap ill hit a
then i get the game disc could not be read

anyone kno why?

did you burn it slowly? (if not try that)

have you ran the cios patch yet? (if not try that)

do you have cios rev 14 installed? (if not try that)

i burnt it at 4x
cios patch yes and rev 14 yes

as this has the REV14 dip module in it, i would suggest you install at least REV13B. This may effect your USB loader if you using one. Oh and you are deffo trying to load the disc from disc channel and not a backup launcher?

The Disc Channel doesnt recognize the DVD-R as a game and when I try booting it through the backup launcher I get a black screen. I've never used the disc channel to play my backed-up games on. I see a lot of people talking about that though so I guess Im out of the loop.

Just to clarify I am NOT using a USB Loader

aha what backupn launcher are you using?
have you tried softchip with hermes IOS222 or 223 installed?

Still experiencing problems. Burnt Wiisos release at 4x and then 1x tonight... no dice.

Earlier on patched my Wii with Hermes 222/223, 36 merged into 37... installed the Wanikoko (sp) System 4.1 update over the official one that was on the original GH 5 disc.

Patched in the IOS56-64-v5146.wad two days ago too.

Anyone else having problems with that release? Trying another one...

Finally got this to work on my own Wii.

It seems that the issue was my DVD writer. So yeah, this works!

Still havnt gotten this to play, but it definitly loads through the main disc channel, but when i click it, i get an error, Progress?

Tried using SoftChip and the screen goes green for half a second and then pitch-black. I'm getting another version other than Wisos but I'd be curious to know what version is working for those lucky ones out there.

got the link for the wad, installed it.

installed 3.3


load in wii main menu, when you try to launch the game it gives black screen error message.

error has occured press eject, remove disc and turn power off. blah blah blah

My advanced Wii-hacking buddy saved my butt -- yet again!

I had installed the proper WAD from here but it did not work for me either! My buddy gave me a *MODDED* WAD file and after installation, the game booted beautifully.

If you need the WAD -- and are getting a brief green screen then black nothingness -- give me a shout.

For those wondering why this wants to run an update.

It is because of IOS56-64-v5146, The Guitar Hero 5 disc is the only place version 5146 of IOS56 exists (to my knowledge).

As of this post v5146 is still not available from Nintendo's servers (using NUSDv12).

The actual SystemMenu that Guitar Hero 5 contains is SysMenu 3.4
I posted the update contents of the game here.
