I just checked that if I don't connect the CPU flex to the chip, the error doesn't occur. I changed the flex for another one, but it remains the same. The moment I connect the battery with the CPU flex connected, the chip starts trying to glitch even if I don't press the power button. If I don't connect the flex, the chip only tries to glitch when I press the power button.

The chip is try to glich but read all point in chip and motherboard some time mosfet is fulty and some time chip if you desolder the boton or type c port the heat move some resistor or crystal chip use microscope... đź‘Ź

Having the ** code (two short yellow blinks)

Used the guide to figure out it's the RST connection.

I went to resolder and I noticed that the pad on the ribbon is gone... what are my options?View attachment 446150

Had the same problem, the soldering was fine.
That particular chip has a flex connector with 3V3 : D : A : C : B : GND, but the flex you are using has the 3V3 switch with the B, hence the error.
Some chinese suppliers are sending out the wrong lite fpc's, specially in the 3 in 1 kits.

I have two short flashes. I have the board removed from the console. I connect the processor flex, the cable from the 3.3V (I'm not connecting the other points, just individual cables), and then the battery connector. Immediately after this, the chip lights up blue and gives two yellow flashes.

The same thing happens if I only connect the 3.3V and RST to the chip.

Thanks. I guess I'll just try replacing both mosfets. I know some people have used a single one but I assume it's best just to go straight for using two again? I bought 10 so I have spares.

I've attached some photos of the cleanup. Still not perfect but it's better, at least.
Forget about 2 Mosfet. You can use only one and it will work perfectly. I cannot understand why there are still people thinking on complex instalation with 2 Mosfets.

You have clear pic you can add here???
You know cpu point read value is it 450 V or up or dowen????

Hello fellow members.

I was about to install the hwfly rp2040 core bought from China on my v2 switch, but recently i have read several horror stories about this chip causing black screens and killing consoles.

Does anybody have experience with this particular chip? Is it safe to install or im better getting an rp2040 zero? Is the flex also safe to install? Is there anyway to verify if the flex is ok?

Thanks in advance for your attention

I was about to buy alsom.when you said rp2040 zero do you mean get the chip and solder all the wires yourself? Or are there rp2040 zero similar ready to install like hwfly rp2040?

Yeah i mean the rp2040 zero board that you have to install the resistors and wire it up yourself. Seems like its the most safe modchip install available.

No problem using these modchips, the problem is that people think that it is easy to mod a switch.

It is, for someone with experince taking apart electronics, doing microsoldering and have the right equipment to do so.

BUT for someone that dont have the right stuff (soldering station, tips, flux, cleaning, multimeter, microscope etc.)
And have never done any soldering/microsoldering, then this is not something you want to try for your first experience.

Youtube videos make it seem like a walk in the park, what you need to understand is that they use special hdmi microscopes when they do that.
In reality these points you are going to solder is so tiny that you cant see if you done it properly with the naked eye.

So 99% of the problems you read about is from total beginners that dont know how to do it properly and it’s just not the soldering part.
They dont disconnect the battery, they are ripping parts of when removing cpu shield, they damage flex cable connectors, they are damaging connectors by using force to pull sd card reader, emmc, ribbon cables.
Scrathing motberboard with sharp objects, no esd safety etc.

And the most important, they do not read all the guides/information that is on this board.
They look at a youtube video and then yolo
And when it’s not working, they panic and starting to remove stuff and ripping traces and points=total fuck up in a lot of cases.
The list can go on forever….

Edit: and they almost never make a backup of the emmc, keys etc. THE FIRST THING YOU DO WHEN HEKATE IS RUNNING THE FIRST TIME
And then they screw up the software part

Need some help in performing the Lite LED Mod if anyone can. I hooked up everything (I'm using the RP2040 Zero Tiny) as the guide shows and get continuity in my DIN connections and VSS to ground connection too but the LED doesn't flash. I desoldered the LED from the chip itself and soldered it on the switch after removing the initial led home button of the switch. The pico screen turns on but no sign of life or indications from the LED. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi all,

I am working my way through modding an OLED with a Picofly chip kit. Getting *=* on the chip on boot, but when I diode mode check the dat0 dot I get ~.793v (Sk Hynix nand) and then on the C point on the chip, I also am seeing ~.793v.

I'm using 30awg wire but I imagine that shouldn't matter since the voltage seems to be working across the wire from dat0 dot to C.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

I'll work on getting an image after I open the switch back up. I'm having a lot of difficulty finding what my diode readings should be on a V1 switch. I get continuity across SP1 and SP2, that much I know.
I removed everything and cleaned up the APU pad, attempted to go back to stock and got a BSOD. After some visual inspection I found some badly scratched traces from RAM. I have no recollection of anything weird happening there (which is why I never even inspected) but I have to assume this is my issue. Am I dead in the water at this point?

You can do a trace repair. I've done that with an OLED. You are certainly not dead in the water lol
Just be sure to mask up the ground plane to isolate your trace repair line when connecting back up.
You can get away with a 40awg wire connecting the traces or use something like this then mask it.
Use a sowing pin next time to unhinge the shield off of its points before removing, its way cleaner.
