usually that should not happen. but for example if you forget to solder Pico's GND wire, you get the APU smoke.
However my Lite's APU was alive even after 3 smoke fires.

Great answers everyone, much less concerned about sending out 'recalls' to my clients XD

I've been doing my MOSFET installs to only one cap because I figured the *APU itself has the caps connected underneath. Both single and double MOSFETs have worked for me this way at least twice (usual AMAZING glitch timing as well).

@Dee87 keeps suggesting that I change to a double-cap install and says that, @rehius specifically, recommends so. May I inquire to your thoughts on this?

Sorry I kind of bombarded you with questions @rehius, what do you think about single-cap-MOSFET installs though?

hi, does anyone ever try to work on SDA and SCL points on Oled? does that SDA and SCL point work with oled?

U also need to mention u install 2 MOSFETs on one apu cap hahahahaha
Which is also a direct waste of a MOSFET if u do it with 2 solder to 2 caps ;-)

I did mention that originally and I'm going double MOSFETs on all systems that would have had that many from a flex install, not a waste to me. Bro...

I measure those both cap are connected. So Using 2 mosfet on 1 cap, or using 1 mosfet each is equal. Thats why i don't see the advantageos of using 2 mosfet. 1 mosfet is enough.

Two modders I know always use single mosfet installs. Only once they had to use SDA/SCL due to stubborn CPU.

My consoles worked with only one cap connection, but dual cap wire is preferred

Those "two modders" use 2 caps though?

If you, the creator of said glitch, only uses one cap, why are 2 preferred?

Again, thank you SO MUCH for your work!

I would assume since he only mentions single mosfet installs, it means those single mosfets are run to both caps.

I use single cap because my soldering sucks, I don't care much about reliability, this was enough for tests.

with two caps you have better connection with inner power circuit, less resistance and better glitch.

@Dee87 this is why I'm thinking of adding a resistor to my MOSFET installs, just in case... the CPU line becomes disconnected?

@Phantomas77 just needs a 1k resistor from CPU line to ground, correct?
Well, I'm late for the discussion, but as already mentioned here it should be enough with over 1k Ohm resistor (from Gate to Source).

Regarding the MOSFETs, I always keep it up with 2 for "worst case scenario", since I hate cleaning that thermal paste :D

Boy, I love this community!

Don't have one with me to give exact values, but you should expect high resistance or an open circuit for the MOSFET between S&D pins when disconnected. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't shorted, but it would be weird for it to go FUBAR after first successful glitch, so probably the problem is somewhere else.
Just a quick update. I'm still getting blue screen post APU and Max77 reflows. However, the USB meter shows that it's pulling 15v and 0.4 amps. What do you think?

You've never heard? To assume makes an ASS out of U and ME ;)

Looks like I didn't make any ASSes with my ASSumption of an ASSessment... THIS time ;P

first attempt at microsoldering, would love some feedback :)
Disregarding the blurry photo (maybe clean your camera lens), it looks like you could do with a little more flux/less time with the soldering iron stuck in the pool of solder. Your soldering points should be shiny when soldered correctly. When they are dull (like in your photo) it's usually an indication that you should use more flux.

EDIT:
flux goes a long way buddy. Those solder points look too dry, they might disconnect eventually.
I was half a second too slow lol

Finally got an appointment with an ENT, but it's not for another month. It's already been 4- days of loud ringing in my left ear, substantial pain on left side of my neck and left side on the back of my head. Doctors here at the regular clinic put me on a couple different meds for a month that did absolutely nothing, then they told me there's nothing more they can do for me despite being in pain and my ear sounding like im underwater and ringing.
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Then three chiropractor appointments which also didn't help at all so i didn't go to the 4th. Been trying to get ahold of this ENT clinic out of town for a week and finally got an appointment set up. But its not til the 17th of July so I have to suffer all this shit for nearly another month.
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
I hope relief from all of this is on the way because I've felt so defeated and severaly lacking in sleep because of the pain and ringing.

  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
@Psionic Roshambo No idea. Clinic put me on Prednisose for 5 days, then Augmentin for 10 days, then Prednisone for another 15 days. When that was done and there was absolutely no change, I went to the chiropractor. Had three appointments where he cracked my neck and spine. No change so i didn't go back to the 4th appointment.

Sounds like scheduling an appt with the ENT was the best decision. I have many of those symptions. The pain in neck and back of head, ringing in the ear, being very tired all the time, dizzyness, etc.

@SylverReZ Significant pain in my neck, shoulder, and back of my head. Loud ringing in my ear and sounds like I have an ear plug in. Excessive tiredness. Slightly blurred vision.
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Been going on for 40 days. Regular doctors and chiropractor did not help. ENT appointment isn't for another 27 days. I hope I live that long.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
That really sounds like the nerve in your neck
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Everything leads to vegas nerve compression. which in looking into it, can cause very bad health issues and can absolutely be fatal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@RedColoredStars, That sucks. My mum had a very bad neck and she's been to many drs to see what the problem is, and none of them noticed anything (except for one). They found that her discs is squeezing between her esophagus.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Try a hot wet towel (almost burning hot) on your upper neck almost the base of your skull. Might provide temporary relief
