My phone is unlocked, I'm not about to re-lock it just to make some incompetent money grubbing assholes happy.
I don't see this law getting enforced, specially not with android being as easy to unlock as it is.

Also how can they do this, they previously ruled banning unlocking unconstitutional, I was under the impression some law prevented them from going back and changing that.
You forget that our elected officials are idiots that think we are robots and will obey any commend simply because it's a command. And they don't give a damn about things that doesn't give them power and money. Trust me, they do this all the time. They don't give a crap about the consumer or the citizen. Every living being in the world are equal in their eyes. And they see us as a big ass pile of money just waiting to be taken and abused.

That's pretty laughable. The phone you receive with your contract or pre-paid card no longer belongs to the carrier - it belongs to the user and for all intents and purposes, the user should be able to do whatever he/she likes because he/she owns it, be it smashing the phone, juggling with it or unlocking it - same difference. Sure, you're bound by the contract until you cover the cost of the phone, but you're not signing a loan contract for which you buy the phone, you're signing a contract.
