I have two softmodded Wii's and would like to play PSO Episode 1&2 via LAN through my home network. I use Nintendont to run my GC games. Is there any way to do this? Any tutorials?

Lately, I've been really wanting to play PSO with my wife, via local lan using Nintendont.

So today I Googled it, and it turns out that the top result was my own post that I made over a year ago and had completely forgotten about.

I guess not a whole lot has changed. That PSO hunger is still real! :P

Oh, actually there was one change. When I originally made this post she was still simply my girlfriend.:)

Who knows, maybe someday I'll be wanting to play PSO with my future children. I'll Google it and be redirected right back here to the once again forgotten post. ^_^

This is the most wholesome thing I've read on this forum, and I've been browsing for years.

I can't help with your issue, but I hope a solution exists out there. Maybe try Dolphin?

Couldn't one just play the pc version?
We played Blue Burst on the PC but we stepped away from it because of all the hassle and complexity. The game itself plays fine, it's just our setup that's a pain in the butt.

She would play on her laptop and I would play on my PC. Her laptop battery kinda sucks so she always has to be plugged into power. She would also experience disconnects from the server so she'd have to be directly connected to the router rather than be on wifi.

We both prefer controller so we'd each have a wired 360 controller plugged in. And we each had a separate numerical keypad for item/tech hotkeys. The reason for the keypads was convenience?? I think?? LoL... I laugh because I don't remember any of it being convenient. I do remember her laptop keypad having compatibility issues with the game, which is why she used a separate one.

We don't have a dedicated gameroom so we typically just played in our bedroom from the comfort of our bed. THIS is why it was a hassle. Because after getting everything setup we'd find ourselves quickly covered in cables. Cables that would have to be disconnected and put away at the end of every gaming session, because we still needed the bed for sleep. And, at the end of the next day, if we felt like playing again, "Hey babe, let get out all the cables and do it all over again."

At some point the conversation would end up with one of us saying.. "Hey you feel like playing PSO tonight?" followed by the other one saying.. "Yeah but then we have to pull everything out." which would quickly result in both of us just saying.. "Nevermind".

So you can see how being able to each play on our own console, where the only wire is the one connecting the pro controller to the Wii remote, would be IDEAL!:)

Well Umm, there is the psp game, I mean you live together, if you managed to get a psp or vita, you can both play that. Is close enough in gameplay to the online one but you would be playing with each other, not really online multiplayer.

You can also use a pc emulator that plays psp games as well. I mean, dunno if you need to play a specific version of phantasy star online, as long as one is close enough in gameplay. So just spitballing ideas here.

Excuse me, but didn't Phantasy Star Online Episode I and II (Plus) offer split-screen multiplayer? I would understand if you want to have the full screen for each player but at least it is a way to play with others.

Thanks for the ideas. Playing on the PC is what we're trying to avoid. And the PSP version is a PSU clone and not exactly the same experience you get with PSO.

Yeah it does. The game doesn't look as good when the GC has to process multiple screens, and you lose a lot of visibility when it splits the screen horizontally.

Ideally we would like to avoid the PC, and lan two consoles so that we each have our own screen.

You could always try it with Dolphin. That wouldn't avoid using a PC at all but at least it wouldn't be the PC version.
