I don't understand why it's doing it. Every time I boot my pc, it goes to the bios. Even when I restart it. I can load windows just fine, but it really should just load automatically, not when I have to force it to load through the bios. Does anyone know how to fix this? I made sure to tell it to load the OS in the bios. But i guess it just ignores my settings. It's not much of a problem, but I just wonder if something is wrong that it is doing that so suddenly.

Hello.:)

Do you have a Mainboard with the newer UEFI or the "Classic" Bios ?

Thank you.:)

I'm not sure what that is, It's the bios screen with the blue border, grey boxes and such, blue text. Don't know what a main board or UEFI is.

Seriously ?? :D

Something like this ?

The bottom picture, that's the one I have. Never seen the top one before. :ninja:

Thank you.:)

Maybe:

- BIOS Battery empty - please check if the Date in the BIOS is 1/1/2000 or similar.
But I do not think so because you say after an Restart the PC boots into the OS/Windows.

- a Open Case Alert Issue - please search for an Entry like "CASE open ALERT" and DISABLE it.

- a Temperature Issue (maybe a Fan is "broken"" - please search for an Entry like "CPU Temperature or FAN speed" and look at the Speed(s) and Temperature(s).Maybe have an "optical" check on CPU Cooler or Graphic Card Fan.

- a Hardware Issue,very hard to tell....

Does the bios give this kind of information? Or do i have to open the system up to find out? I doubt my pc would work at all if the fan is broken.

Yes the Information is reading from Sensors/Chips on the Mainboard and displayed in the Bios.
But it is always a good Idea to have a look on the Fans IN the PC too.

How long did your PC "worked" ?
(and please do not say "10 Years or longer"....:D ).

Thank you.:)

I had this pc for at least 2 years. It didn't start having this issues until Sometime after July. I guess some issues where some apps or start up programs would work properly after a windows update, but that's been fixed recently since october. :ninja:

Looking like that doesn't mean it isn't UEFI, my previous laptop had a really really ugly old-looking one.

I second that. My laptop has UEFI and you'd be hard pressed to tell the bios screen apart from the one in the original pictures. The only way I can tell is that there's no "press del/f2 for setup", and I need to select "reboot to UEFI setup" via the Win10 shift-shutdown menu.

So I noticed that I no longer have this problem. I'm not sure why, but my guess is the windows update. Sorry I can't convey more info because it's just as much a mystery to me than it should have been. :ninja:
Thank you for your Report.:)
One of the famous unsolved Mysteries of Windows.....:D

Good to hear, this Issue is gone and all is now working for you.
Thank you.:)

It sounds to me like the boot loader had been set to load into BIOS, and possibly only after an update switched its mode (pre-boot patching) did it clear the setting. Either way, as the issue is resolved, don’t need to think too much into it.
Well it is easier to say that microsoft is getting sloppy with their updates. So maybe not download every single one without some news first. Suddenly feels like my pc has custom firmware that can get patched or brick my pc with each update. :P

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.

It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
