When ever I get a patched game, I can't use cheats... How do I prevent this? I once heard something about changing IDs of games and stuff but I really have no clue to what I'm doing... Can someone help?

P.S. Sorry if I posted in the wrong spot, nothing really fit to this
P.P.S or P.S.S. What does PS or PSS or PPS stand for?

You can't prevent this all the time. Some patches change the game ID, some don't. You can't use cheats on ones that do, though. You'll have to create your own that work with that specific ID.

PS: PS stands for Post-Script. PPS stands for Post-Post-Script. PSS isn't logical, because it stands for Post-Script Script.

Ah, thank you. Is there a way to make it so a (the) patch doesn't change a ID... I really don't wanna work hard to beat Soul Silver (lol) even though I hear it is the best Pokemon game around....

I guess I was wrong about no way to change codes to work with the new ID.

But I'm NOT wrong about there's no way to make ID changing not happen unless you know enough coding to figure out why the ID changes and where.

What I did here is:
I made a new game with the ID of the patched Pokemon game... I copyed codes from the Jap. Version of the game and put them inside the patched one. I started up my DS and saw the cheats...1 Problem though, the cheats do not work.

I also tried to rename the jap game's ID and rename the title, but, alas, that did not work either. The cheats, again did not work.

Sorry, if you read above, that did not work... Any more ideas? Anyone?
