Pal TV from NTSC receiver?

hey im visiting america in the summer and planning on buying this desktop...

It has an NTSC tv tuner but would this work over here in the UK and be able to receive UK channels?

It is highly unlikely, but if it did then it would only be the 5 analogue channels.

The power supply would be an issue, the US uses a lower voltage than the UK.

If you insist on getting one over there then you should be able to buy a TV card over here and replace it.

Just a word on power supply, Sony does not take well to 3rd party supplies and in a bid to stamp importing often causes problems with trying to obtain supplies.

Edit forget that I thought it was a laptop for some reason.


As for the TV card I say buy a USB or standard PCI card, bundled stuff is usually not that good (especially sony stuff).

As for actual viewing I will have to look to be certain but RF TV should work, digital is right out.
