If you still have black screen with v8 base57, be sure you use the correct USB Port. (but you should know if your other games are working).
reset the game settings (maybe you enabled debug mode by mistake, reset the video to "disc default" not console's default)
try with HDD if you are using a flash drive. (though, it should affect other games too)
As you are on Wii, you also have the possibility to try this game with Hermes cIOS (instead of d2x)
The cIOS usually installed in slot222, 223, 224 (try the one with mixed base37+38)
Hermes cIOS have a good reputation for music games
(I don't remember if Hermes cIOS are working with all new HDD format, like GPT or NTFS, you might want to use MBR and FAT32 only)
I'm trying to make Just Dance 1 to work, with no avail. But there's a silver ligning. Through Wii Backup Manager, I discovered that Just Dance 1 uses ios 53, not 57. It seems Monster Hunter Tri uses ios 53 too. I'll try to look for Monster Hunter solutions and apply to Just Dance. So far, the problem is, d2x_Custom_IOS_Installer doesn't allow to use ios53 as a base to install cios v10.beta52.d2x.vWii. It only allows to use 56/57/58. If you choose cios d2x v6, it allows to choose the 53 ios as the base, BUT I think d2x v6 is for the real Wii hardware, so it's a no no for my vWii.
I'll start my research in Monster Hunter Tri methods and If I find out the solution for Just Dance, I'll keep in touch.
EDIT: It seems it's not the case. Wii Backup Manager says Fragile, Rogue Trooper, Silent Hill Shattered Memories uses IOS53 too, and all of them run perfectly on vWii. Only Just Dance 1 seems to refuse to work with cios 249/250/251. Seems I reach a dead end here. Just Dance 1, only on Dolphin, if I have the patience to sync the wiimotes all the time from Wii to PC/PC to Wii...

And the IOS used by every Just Dance game, accordingly to Wiibackup Manager:
And I did a integrity image check on the Just Dance iso too, sha1 using Wii Backup Manager, it says the image is ok (the image runs on Dolphin without problem).
On Wiiflow and USB Loader GX, I tried to change the language to English, video to NTSC, tried loading with IOS 249, 250, 251, AUTO, nothing works. Wiiflow shows the loader loading bar, but after the bar is complete, I have only the black screen. Anything seems to work. Downloaded the Pal version, tried to force Pal50, Pal60, didn't work. Downloaded the USA wbfs from 4 different places, nothing work.

Switched the cIos (d2x v10 beta 52), updated both USB Loader GX and Wiiflow (Wiiflow crashed, the latest release that worked was 5.4.1). Setting the game to ios250, both Pal and NTSC games, nothing, just the black screen.

Try to activate the "Import patch" and/or the English language since you are with a NTSC-J console and trying to play a NTSC or PAL game. On mine it is the opposite: if I try to play a NTSC-J game in many cases I have to activate Import Patch and set the game settings language to Japanese.
but a bit of advice: dont bother with the first Just Dance anyways. JD detection was and still isnt anything stellar, but it improves dramatically with the second game and some of the songs were re-released in other games with the redesigned motion sensing engine, either with dlc or in Greatest Hits.
Hi Jeannotte! I use a Y cable, the partition was NTFS, tried with a fat32 partition, same problem. Wiiflow shows a grey load bar, but the advice Wii screen never shows up, only black screen.

Thanks for the advice, Codemastershock. But I already did this steps many times, tried different combinations of IOS/language/patch, nothing work. I would pass the Just Dance 1, but it's the only version that have Groove is in the Heart (Dee Lite) and Funplex (B52). Other one that I like, Wannabe (Spice Girls) is no problem, I have a DLC version for Just Dance 2 or 3, I think.

Yep. IOS250, Language: English Patch Strings: Yes. And I tried other combinations with IOS, language, video mode, etc... At least, one of the main 3 problems with my Wii U, I solved today (to play USA disc of BotW in my Japanese console).
