Um, I've never played Okami. (I've been planning to get the Wii version but I'm a little strapped for cash recently.)

Will I still be able to enjoy this game?

The only thing I would warn against is that this game may turn you off from Okami, and that would truly be tragic. While I'm enjoying the novelty of having a portable Okami, the dialogue in Okami Den is, well, disappointing. The story itself is fine, but some of the things the characters say are very out of place for this game universe. This is definitely no Hideki Kamiya game. Also, the visual and audio splendor of the original Okami were huge factors. I don't give a rat's ass how many people chant "graphics don't matter," they do! In Okami, the presentation was half the magic. It wasn't just a game, it was a spiritual journey, a true work of art. Trust me, the argument of "can a video game be art" was ended with the original Okami.

Play this game, enjoy it, but I recommend you be mindful that it is but a pale image of the original Okami.

its interesting to see that they made the sequel for DS. Im certianly not complaining lol the DS has a legendary line up and this only helps. I'll give this a try after i beat Okami.

I got the original on ps2 when it first game out, one of mt favorite games on ps2 for sure. Only thing that bugs me about this game so far is that your ink doesn't automatically refill it self like in the first game.

Whelp, just finished it. I clocked in at a little over 25 hours. I'm guessing there's more you can do after the main story, but I feel completely satisfied. I'll probably fool around with it a bit more just to see what other brush techniques I can acquire and all that, though. That was quite possibly the very best way I could imagine ending the DS' effective life cycle. Not perfect, but perfectly brilliant, nonetheless.
