No, the full translation isn't out.
There is a half-baked, shitty translation that includes menu's, items, and a few other things.
It's fully playable, as the game kind of hints of where to go to next (but if you have trouble, just use the Starmen.net Mother3 Walkthrough Guide).

If I were you, I'd wait though.
The full translation will be so much better to play, as you'll be able to understand everything. The story, items, etc.

I hope we get to play with a fully done hack sometime this year. But something is telling me that won't happen. I still can't believe Nintendo has no intention on bringing this over for us.

I really hope NoA changes their mind and eventually get Mother 3 released over here somehow, but that's just wishful thinking considering how they hate the series just because it failed at the time of it's debut over here on the SNES. I played the NES and SNES game and loved them both so I'd be happy to buy Mother 3 if it ever comes out in the US.

Sometimes I wonder why NoA hasn't realize how strong the mother fanbase has become over here. The fan translation should've gone through to their heads that America really wants this game to come out over here.

Well, I don't think that the patch is very far from us, all the technicalities are almost fixed.
IMO, the blog is a good idea. It's fun to read how they work things out, and give us something to occupy our minds while waiting.

Looking at the video on the site, they seem to have done an awful lot. I really admire that guys resolve. They had to hack into all the text boxes and really go out of the way just to insert some text. And there look to be tons of bugs. Also, now I can't wait for it!

Anyone know what Famitsu gave it?

The hard drive controller interface decided to flake out again while I was copying data over to the new server. In an effort to minimize any potential data loss by the server effectively crashing multiple times, I have decided that now is a good time for the downtime I spoke of earlier.

The server should be back up Thursday morning at the latest, at least in some fashion. So, go out, ride a bike, haunt a house, and perhaps eat the neighbor's flowers!

I love these guy's sense of humor... I really hope that M3Translation comes out VERY VERY VERY VERY soon! I can only play Mother 1 and 2 so many times till I wanna punch Ninten and Ness in the head!

Its not easy to translate games, especially RPGs, theres a lot of text and you also have to hack the game and extract the game sprites as well as modify the code the english text works and fits in the game. Most of these guys have day jobs and school as well so they can't fully work on the project all the time.

Though at any rate, I can't wait till it gets done.

I wouldn't consider this an "official discussion thread", and I don't think it should be stickied as the creator suggested, but I do believe that translating this game would be a great achievement for the community.

Its called Earthbound in the West.

Mother (NES) was planned for release in US/Europe but never came out. There are 100% translations and is known as Earthbound Zero.

Earthbound (in Japan its called Mother 2: Gyiyg no Gyakush?) came out for the SNES in the US.
