2 VC updates for today (Australia):

Kid Icarus
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Finally

I'll be picking up Ocarina of Time seeing as how I must be the only person around that hasn't played it yet. I wasn't a Zelda fan till I played Twilight Princess. Hopefully it still plays well after all these years.

I'm on the same boat as you Opium...only started to like Zelda after playing TP!
But I won't be downloading this when it comes out for North America...(looks at hardly opened Zelda Collector's Disc)

Awesome. It looks like it's out here too.

The only other copy of OoT I own is the N64 cart, and I haven't played it since I completed it... how ever many years ago that way.

Strangely, we're still waiting for Link to the Past...

Apparently OoT should look the same visually as the GC version.

Anyone in PAL regions got Kid Icarus yet? I hear its slower and not much fun, its a game I wanna buy (as it never came out here) but I don't want an inferior version to what the NTSC folks get.

I'm not so sure OoT is the exact same version as the version on the Cube Wind Waker bonus disk. I might be wrong due to playing Twilight Princess too much, but it seems more "choppy" and not so clean as the cube version was. Also, I believe the VC version is running way slower than the Cube version. Anyone else noticed this?

Very possible. If you went and played it on a N64 you'd probably notice that it's a little choppier than the GC version as well.

Wow I'm always amazed to here that people haven't played this game. Especially those who regularly play video games. You guys are in for a treat. That game is truely amazing. And yes it does play well after all these years, I just beat it for a second time a few months ago.

"Every NES game on the VC (with the exception of Super Mario) runs too slowly, as do all the Mega Drive and most of the SNES releases.

Thanks Nintendo!"

Funny, I haven't had any speed issues with any of the 5 games I've gotten =-/ .

That is because you are from 60Hz NTSC land, not 50Hz Pal land. Take off 17% speed for Pal.
Slow games suck, IMHO. There should be a choice - I remember I had a switch installed on my Aus SNES to run games at full speed if I wanted to.

I was pissed to see OOT on VC though as I've been waiting for LttP since I saw it on IGN and it's actually the first game I thought about re-buying from the VC (although I would have bought Mario64 if I hadn't played it to death on the DS as well as the N64).

Don't nintendo know that Zelda fans already have the collectors disc! I already have 2 versions of OOT for the Wii (albeit via GC), I dont want another one!

I cant believe it did not come out in the UK. I had the PAL version here in Australia for the NES, and in the 80's we were quite backwards with really delayed release dates.

I think when discussing this we need to make a distinction between slow processing (choppy) and the slower pal refresh rate. This will manifest itself in a noticeably different way. Besides, I had no problem playing the NES pals originals in the 80's.
