Are you using the DMToolbox.exe that comes with DIOS MIOS to convert and put the files in the right place at once?

I tried it just now, it didn't find my external HDD so I typed the directory manually, it hasn't picked up the game in either the root or the games folder the instructions suggest, what else should I try?

It should be finding your HDD, what's the letter, what are the right-click options when you right-click on the drive?

Look at it manually and make sure the there are folders inside the games folder and that there is a file named "game.iso" inside those folders. It should look something like this
/games/mario/game.iso
(where the folder name "mario" is just an example and can be whatever you want since it's one folder per game.)

And on GX in the custom paths settings make sure the gamecube paths (there's 2 of them) are

usb1:/games

and

sd:/games

respectively.

I'm using CFG USBloader since apparently the gamecube games will just show up with the Wii ones (apparently it reads the entire device) and also, I've already done that, the game.iso is in the folder and that folder is in the games folder.

Windows will refuse to format anything over 32gb as FAT32 but if you use another app like wii backup manager or this

Pretty sure you need it to be FAT32 with 64KB cluster.

Well like I said, I use this hard drive for everything, not just Wii-related things, and I don't have the money to spend on another USB device.

... so what? Anything that can read NTFS can read FAT32. FAT32 was the filesystem used on Windows before NTFS, and FAT32 is still used on USB drives, Micro/SD cards, etc.

quick point though is the file size limit of fat , 4 gig files is the max before they need to be split , just be aware of that if your going to convert and have large video files for example

Not that I don't appreciate the help but that's a suggestion I can't really test, I have some big files on here that are pretty important. Guess I'll just see about getting a cheap USB device for GC backups in the future. Thanks for the insight though.

So, I ran into yet another problem. A game would black screen after the warning logo so I googled the problem and found that you need to disable disc updates on Priiloader - which I thought I did but apparently my version of Priiloader no longer worked, so I went to update it only to find it constantly giving me an error message "Priiloader not found, aborting operation" so I googled that and found this: http://gbatemp.net/threads/priiloader-or-startpatch-both-cant.265058/ and tried both proposed solutions, none worked, so I tried reinstalling everything but that also failed, now I'm at a loss and feel kind of uncomfortable without having it as a failsafe. (Still new to this hacking thing and my backup won't do much good without it.)

Sorry to be such a pain and spam the thread but I really do appreciate how helpful everyone is.

you can make multiple partitions on the drive
eg a 50GB Fat partition for GC games and the rest in a NTFS one for everything else

find your usb hdd in it
delete the current partition
create a new partition (fat32/32k clusters)
when it asks for size choose whatever you want to use for GC + HBC
after its done create another partition (ntfs) with the rest of the space (should be default)

there should be better tutorials out there too

Oh, thanks, I will try that later.

Hopefully someone has an idea, I tried using ModMii for it but it just gives me the same error even after following all the instructions and I have no idea why.

Edit: Ok, I tried doing this: http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-custom-...7373-priiloader-not-installing-currectly.html and copying the text file that person provided in place of my hacks_hash.ini file and it seems to work but I am not sure how effective it will be, will report back and let anyone know.

Edit2: Yeah, that worked and I have another anti-brick measure back but Galaxy 2 is still broken so apparently the disc update hack didn't work, I'm inclined to think this game is just not going to work. :V Oh well, it sucked after the third galaxy anyway.
