Yea I tried every possible combination of USB even using a 4 port hub. SD + USB Adapter work well. Just an extra confirmation haha. Gotta get a bigger SD card.
I'm trying to sift through all this information. I want to get clarification on a few things. Using SD only activates the front ports?(According to that guy above the back ports work too)
Also USB Loading did work for me, but then I got the controller error message to plug into the rear port. Also what is the difference between the black and gray USB cords? Is one data and the other power?
Black is data from the controls.I load games from my SD and i use the back ports with the gamecube adapter, don't worry about it. I'm not sure about the rest, but yes one is data and the other only power, though i'm not sure which, i would guess black is data.

Is their any documentation from nintendo (not just speculation) that the grey cable is only needed for rumble?Black is data from the controls.
Grey is just to power on the rumble of the controls.
Nintendont is reading the adapter as an HID adapter. I tested HIDtest with a link cable attached and got no response.Just one question. I read that naive control allows things like GBA-Linkage and such. Though since on the Wii U it can't be used, will it be possible in the future with the gamecube adapter? It's amazing how far nintendont has come along since I saw the video by crediar running WW some time ago.

Do the gamecube controllers work in smash u without the grey caple plugged in?
What happens when rumble should occure and the gray cable isnt plugged in in smash U?

The GBA link cable itself is a passive cable. If the GameCube side is connected to the GCN Adapter but the GBA side isn't connected to anything, nothing will happen. Try connecting the link cable to a GBA with no cartridge inserted and then turn the GBA on. The GBA will start in multiboot mode - if the adapter recognizes this, it might show a different value somewhere.

Rev. after 225 broke PS2 & PS3 controllers support. When I boot nintendon't on my Wii I see command: "Plug Controller in TOP usb port". Rev. 225 works great! Please, fix that issue.
That's awesome. XDWell I only have Wavebirds controllers so I think I'm good without rumble![]()

Must.... have.... rumble.... I'm addicted to it. Thanks Sony.Well I only have Wavebirds controllers so I think I'm good without rumble![]()
Don't go that far.I am in the long process of testing a number of version to find out where USB Loading and HID broke as it's been temperamental for a while. I need to test pretty much every revision since HID and USB loading came about.
In my quick testing a few days ago, I tested r214-r226 and only 4 revisions (215, 216, 218, and 222) worked right. The other versions I got black screen, system reboot or Plug controller error. Loading the game from SD + HID worked every time. With Thanksgiving being tomorrow and me not having a TV until Tomorrow night, I won't be able to test anything till then. I will find out where USB broke, it's just a matter of time. It's not as simple doing halfsies as USB + HID didn't consistently not work as it worked in 4 random versions from my test group. I need to find out where is consistently worked until it started not to work.
What happens when running nintendont and rumble should occure while the grey cable isnt plugged in?The adapter works perfectly fine if you only connect the black cable; however, there is no rumble if you do not connect the gray one. I've tested this with both of my adapters
Don't go that far.
I can assure you that the number of revisions you have to test will be cut down by a lot because you only need to test up to the Bluetooth revision, which I think was 145.
Go in reverse, from the latest to 145 just dont do it one by one.
Take jumps, like 10 or so revisions i n between each test to accelerate the debugging process.
Yeah but you can make that up by logic. Why up to the Bluetooth revision? The issue doesn't happen with Bluetooth, only HID and USB Loading.
