Hacking Nintendont

ill post back about this new rev later. but last night i loaded wiiflow then load nintendont rev 59 and as soon as i press USB it gives an error. i tried again after and then it loaded luigi's mansion but crashed at the very begining. after this it just crashes each time i press usb in nintendont. so i just stick with testing through the homebrew channel (cos we are testing nintendont after all)
 
Loader-related crashing seems to be related to not cleanly writing the Nintendont config file, as well as forcing their return stubs instead of letting Nintendont use its own, at least according to a couple testers I've been chatting with in the postLoader thread. Once I added very clean config writing and not forcing postLoader's homebrew stub, it doesn't seem to crash anymore. Hopefully this helps the authors of USB GX and Wiiflow. :)

So, you didnt do anything but just let the homebrew channel handle everything which we know works. In case you dont know, the nintendont stub is written by me, as well as postloaders as wiiflows stub is, so it cant be any problems with that since both base on the exact same code. I did some extensive testing as well and it is a different problem, I couldnt figure out yet what exactly it is though.
 
So is it an issue with Nintendont then, or the loaders? That's what I can't figure out.

I am pretty sure it has todo with some memory positions, at least for me the crash leads to a problem with freeing a specific memory region, I still need to investigate in which range it falls.

Hm, I'm getting some crashes still. I guess the mystery continues. Will you share your findings when you come across what's messing up Nintendont?
 
i thought mine crashed because it tried reading the hard drive again. (load wiiflow/load gamecube game/loads nintendont. the second i press usb it crashes. so i kinda thought it was a reading issue

are you loading it through the homebrew channel or via a usbloader? ill check this out in 5 mins. ps im well happy i can actually play luigi's mansion and save it without any problems so far (rev59) thanks to fix and everyone else pitching in

super mario sunshine works in rev59 and 60 i dont no which region it is. and luigi's mansion works with both revs. burnout2 still freezes who ever asked about that. at fix94 on wiiflow how or what button do i press to find out the information on a game? i used to be able to press plus on any game and it would display all information for it including the region. but this was sometime ago i think on revision 4.1 or lower

burnout 2 works perfectly on 1.60 you sure your using 1.60?you have the font_ansi.bin in the root?
 
i have the ipl.bin i think. not font_ansi.bin i thought they would work the same? and ye definatly rev60 i just tried
they do work the same then its your iso of burnout 2 i just played the first 3 missions preety damn easily on rev 1.60 no problems whatsoever , it must be your iso then i guess.

FIX94: So it was within Nintendont then? No changes are needed for external loaders?

Think about it, if the loader made some problems, why did the loader never crash itself? It must be a nintendont problem, otherwise everything before nintendont would have the same problems.
 
hhmmm well ive played it before using dios mios i think (ill check shortly) which would mean my iso is fine wouldnt it?
dkn greyrogue a nintendont dev also said the game is working for him and another user called adeka also confirmed it, i also played and im playing it right now on 1.6 so if it works for 3 ppl it has to be on your end

im using burnout 2 USA 1.21 gb iso that was discex extracted and it works for me not sure what the other 2 users that confirmed it working are using, i also boot nintendont directly from homebrew channel no loaders tested.
 
ill go check out dios mios quickly see if it loads. and mines GCReEx converted

i checked with dios mios and its let me play first 2 races and then i quit the game.
the only two differences i no of is im using GCReEx and im using ipl.bin (on a 1.5tb hard drive)
