Well, I have a 128gb SSD, but I have my OS on it. I also have a 500gb hdd, but, I have all my media on it. I can't do anything at this point. Waiting till summer to buy an external hdd. What can you guys recommend? Is there an ext. hdd that doesn't need the "Y" cable? What is the best overall hdd to use with the wii?

If you get the kind that need external power (not portable) you won't need a Y cable.

Y cables cause a small problem if your loading games from usb. You need an usb extender to connect your Y cable to the front port.

You can buy them on ebay/amazon for less then $1 with free shipping.

I still can't get my front ports to do anything when not in wiiu mode. I have a USB extension cable but it's plugged into a wall USB plug

So, I have transferred all my data from a 2gb sd card to an 8gb micro sdhc and it performs 2x as good. I can only imagine what wil happen if I get a 32gb sdxc 1 :D

It also depend on sd card speed. Because yes, sd card class changes read/write speed.

I figured out what it was. I didn't realize Nintendont didn't automatically load the controller.ini and initialize the HID.
I also thought it was automatically booting my ISO since it was the the only I had, but it turns out you have to quickly tap the A button or else it spams A and loads whatever the first game is on your SD/USB.
Can the OP please mention this in the post? I don't see any mention of this anywhere.

It'd be nice if the developers advertised that there's a configuration menu on the start screen and fixed the button spam.

Thanks for your help, faku1810.

Well, there isn't really a need to advertise that there's a configuration menu... if you read the screen it says B Button = Settings or something like that. Also, it's not that it spams the button (at least, it's not supposed to, even if you have only one game) but it does seem like the autoboot was enabled. This would be caused by loading a game straight from an usb loader with such option enabled, or maybe a previous attempt. You can stop the autobooting by pressing B (it should say so in the screen if that's the case B = Stop Boot)

In any case, I'm glad you could sort it out and enable the HID option in nintendont.

Cyan has fixed it some time ago, and it was on the old google code page. Maybe it should be on the first post, if it isn't already :p
