Hello everyone.

Is the a method to run Metroid series in true Widescreen mode ?

I tried in many ways but in Metroid Prime series ( "Metroid Prime" and "Metroid Prime 2: Echoes") Widescreen hack doesn't work. Screen is still in proportion 4:3 and stretched to 16:9 (not true widescreen).

Hack usually works with many games like "Super Mario Sunshine", "Super Smash Bros Melee" and others.
What is the mechanism of Widescreen patching ? Is Nintendont forced patch on every game in the same way or maybe there is inner list supported games hardcoded in Nintendont and Metroid isn't on the list supported games ?.

I use USB Loader CFG mod (cfg-loader-mod r77 : https://code.google.com/p/cfg-loader-mod/source/list) to launch nintendont and pass the parameters. Nintendont r182.

I think that game can be pathed because i saw on youtube that working Widescreen is implemented in Dolphin 4 Wii/GC emulator and work very well. Example :

I can't help you with the GC versions, but Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii has widescreen support for parts 1 & 2, but the HUD still renders at the original aspect ratio and ends up stretched.

Yes, i know. I tried MP Trilogy but still prefer the GC version. It's only my personal preference. And memories. It will be great if some day these games will be run in widescreen mode on Wii and WiiU.

Alrighty dude, no ill blood here, Fix knows I'm not pushing him and BTW I am donating to both him and Joostin on the weekend for all their work.

I will forget this and move on, I won't ignore you just calling a truce. (I won't mention PSO any more unless the conversation goes that way)

BTW ON Topic:
I tried PSO 1 and 2 Plus version and yeah it black screens now and doesn't reboot the console (Will update the wiki and not mention PSO anymore)

To answer your original question, yes it does work on Dios Mios. I only managed to get a 1/1 rip of the pal version running and there's no BBA emulation on Dios Mios.

If anyone sees something missing/incorrect in the database, let me know via PM and I'll fix it. It's a text file I found online that seemed to have everything.

I'd also like to thank whoever just donated $5 to me. That's my first ever donation. :)

I'm not sure if it's on the list, if it belongs on the list, or what it's even called, but... I have an ISO of a very early Dolphin tech demo made by nintendo to show to developers I think from around 2000, it demonstrates all the new graphical effects the hardware is capable of by showing you around special rooms in a castle and there's a way to monitor all the systems resources and view the wireframes of the models, etc. best way I can describe it... Anyhow, it IS compatible with Nintendont if anyone knows what I am talking about and was wondering if it could run. :P

Check the title ID and do a search for the first three letters in titles.txt.

I think I've got the Triforce games fixed, I'm just waiting for someone to test it before I release it.

Can anyone tell me if Phantasy Star Online works on Dios Mios on Wii and if you can use Modem Emulation?
I know Devolution can but I can't find these games in Aus haha
It works on DM(L) but it requires a certain patched version and to set the settings in USB Loader GX in a certain way, it's been a while so I forgot what they are but I have them saved in my USB Loader, if I recall DML Booter gets the game running on the fly.

The PSO entries in the nintendont compat list are totally outdated. Maybe you start by keeping those up to date. PSO I & II has the note "Wii simply powers off on boot.". I doubt this is still the case, since FIX94 added a lot of patch pattern a while. The game probably blackscreens right now. If I remember correctly, one of those games also has a unique anti piracy function. I don't remember where I read that. Not sure if this is true.
Actually PSO 1&2 still shuts down the Wii for me, I think it's the only game that does that, and btw Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1&2 is one game (least the GC version, it was two games on DC).

Dude, that's 3 straight days you've brought up PSO. Give it a rest already. Don't you think FIX well aware of PSO's issues and the time it's going to take to fix them?

In the meantime, why not play Blue Burst on your PC? It's free, runs on old hardware, and uses the same exact servers everyone uses for PSO on the Gamecube.
He didn't say anything wrong, I think you're the one being rude to him, the guy simply asked wither PSI works on Dios Mios or not, anyway I'm sure Fix94 and the rest of the developers are fully aware that the game is highly wanted and it should because it's a good game, I had fun with it on the Dreamcast and I still do on the Gamecube, it's been a while since I played it though.

The file I found had several duplicates. I went through and thought I removed them all, but I guess not. It will just select the first one it finds. I'll remove the rest in the next update (I found some others), but it doesn't really matter.

yeah i saw some others too like on starfox adventures but tbh i think spider man second one is the correct name not the first one.

I just Donated 5 bucks to each JoostinOnline and FIX94 for all their work and will donate more when I have cash.

Good job guys!
Thanks so much man! :D

To be clear, I really appreciate donations, but don't feel like you have to for me to keep working on this.

Choosing to ignore the facts while playing the rude card isn't going to get you anywhere, especially in light of the fact that we already resolved the issue. Time to move along.

Nah I know, just feel as if I should since you did implement the update system and even now are adding to it with titles.txt stuff, so you earned it in my book.
Also it looks as if your settingsgui is going to be essential to getting all games working at some point so double deserve it haha.

The only thing with Titles.txt I would say is maybe add a download feature for it inside Nintendon't like USBLoaderGX has, no biggy if that's a bad idea but would make everything automated haha.

By removing GC controller support, Nintendo was likely promoting the use of the Wiimote and probably figured that anyone who preferred the GC versions probably already had them.

I might do that. Unfortunately, I don't have a way to check the version number like I do with boot.dol. I also don't think it will need to ever be updated. I'm removing the duplicates, but as I said before, it's not actually necessary.

yeah theres no need to update titles.txt since gc games arent being made anymore so what would you update? its just a matter of having all of them there and thats it.

Yeh because it just pings the game code that you have and assigns a name right?
Duplicates shouldn't matter in that case, no, however a download from within the loader would be nice since most of us are lazy hahahah
