Hello,

First, thanks to the developpers and the testers for all the work involved in this loader!
I want to report an error I'm having with Sonic Adventure DX (NTSC). On the compability list, the game is green on 2.166 and has no notes so I want to be sure it's on my end before editing the line.
At the character selection screen, after exactly 7 seconds, the music starts looping and then a black and orange screen appears saying: "An error has occured. Turn the power off and refer to the Nintendo GameCube Instruction booklet for more information." The same happens if I quickly select a character and start the game. If I don't press a button on the title screen, I see the demo gameplay just fine.

My MD5 matches the one from redump.org, I tried with different versions of Nintendont (2.166-2.184), different kind of settings (Mem Emu OFF, MaxPads 1, Force NTSC ON, unstealthed my HDD, in-game progressive scan disabled).
All my others games (Melee, Sunshine, DoubleDash, SkiesOfArcadia, WarioWare) work A1 with my WiiU 5.2.0.

Here's a footage of the error:

Hey guys, one little request to whoever can help me.

I've been trying out Widescreen Cheat Codes for certain games that chop the menu screen or other parts of the game in Nintendont.
I have tried Super Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Kart Double Dash so far (Animal Crossing has one too but I don't have that game)
I stumbled upon a Widescreen cheat code for Kirby's Air Ride... for PAL region.

Since my game is NTSC-U, I wanted to ask if someone knows a way to convert the code so it work on NTSC region?
The cheat code is the following:

Code:
Kirby Air Ride (GKYP01/PAL)

16:9 Aspect Ratio (Widescreen) [Ralf]
X6J2-BHKH-PZ7DN
H0JK-MCD9-CPK1E
ZUGK-70CD-67171
J73F-1KB4-CB500
NXC1-25YG-2JFM7
PW7A-259F-XG5HN
UJDW-57RW-DHDQ7
ZZB3-UUR5-G56ZW

I'd go message that Ralf guy at GC forever. Also doesn't Kirby Air Ride already work with the widescreen hack on? I thought I remember testing it when widescreen hacks first came into the scene.

Good Luck! I'd love to learn how to make widescreen cheat codes for games, but I'm way too code illiterate to start.

The Widescreen hack does work with Kirby Air Ride, but the thing is that the menus and some other things are chopped when you have it enabled, and for what I've seen in the other two GCTs, the menus using the Widescreen cheat codes seem to work properly.
That's why :P

Hope you can get a reply from him soon! Thanks!

You should see if the Kirby Air Ride widescreen cheat by Ralf actually works the way you think it will?

I already tested Medal of Honor European Assault by first changing from 480p to 480i using JoostinOnline's Settings Editor GUI and it now boots on vWii/Wii U.
There's something about Progressive TV output that prevents this game and the FIFAs from booting on Wii U with 480p (HDMI)

It's probably similar to why some games don't like being forced into Widescreen like Pokémon XD.

On a side note, I have a slight issue with 2.184. If I forget to turn off HID, Nintendont locks up and I have to physically unplug the Wii U at the message to plug the HID controller in the Bottom Rear port. Not sure why buy WiiFlow defaults to HID on for every new game I add even though I am using the Wii U Pro controller.

Thats actually great news, now it is at least playable. Concerning this issue: I don'think it is a bug of nintendont. Those games are just a bit picky with the video signals. What is weird is that FIFA 06 has progressive support and still it has this problem. Forcing nintendonts video mode to interlaced by setting the variable "progressive" in global.c to false didn't work either. So, I don't know what to to.

FIX94:

Could you take a look on the IDA stuff I posted a few pages ago. The point where Lord of the rings Return of the King PAL crashes is easy to find. Just search for "TV format". Maybe you can figure out what r3 holds if playing Lord of the Rings on a 480p vWii. Maybe patching that value would already be enough to make the game boot. What is weird is that force NTSC is the only option that makes it run on a 480p vWii. Normally I would consider NTSC mkre an invalid TV format for a PAL game than PAL60 lol.

If that's the case, then you should install a Nintendont forwarder channel and have SE GUI auto-exit to that. You can launch SE GUI, quickload the settings, and it will automatically launch Nintendont.

When I choose to load GC games with nintendont from Cfg Loader it loads nintendont but doesn't select and load the game. If I connect the USB hdd to my other wii it works as expected. All Cfg and Nintendont files are on the hdd so not sure why it works on one wii and not the other.

If their is an sd card in the wii try ejecting it.
