Is the latest build bugged? When I open Nintendont via HBC, the controls are completely messed up — it’s perpetually scrolling up even with no controllers connected, and it’s impossible to launch a game or go back at all. I’m trying to use USB Loader GX to launch games and it doesn’t work either (black screens and reboots USBLGX). Appreciate any help!

I’m using an OG Wii and Nintendont Loader v6.503.

I tried going to GitHub and using an older version from 2025 and the 2024 version but they don’t recognize my games on the USB HDD, only the latest gives me an optio. To choose SD or USB.

USB External drives have been a thing in Nintendont for years now so it should work unless your HDD is not using Master Boot Record partition scheme and a FAT32 file system. It should always work. You may need to use a partition manager to verify what partition scheme is being used and see if there are any extraneous partitions that could be giving Nintendont trouble. Also what size HDD are you using?

I haven't used Nintendont is years so I don't know what stuff has been added/fixed since I last used it.

I see my FAT32 partition appearing in the 2021 and 2024 versions, the main issue is not being able to properly select a game, it’s like the controls have a mind of their own even when no controllers are plugged in. The 2021 version is even booting a random game sometimes.

I vaguely recall input issues years ago where Nintendont would register one tap as multiple but I thought that was fixed years ago. What controller are you using?

I’m using a GCN controller — I’ve tried different types (SSB4, SSBU, 2002 OG) and all have the same issue. It’s there with nothing plugged in too.

i have no issues with the menu, its probably something on your end tried unplugging the usb controllers and using the wiimote to navigate? if there are still issues maybe some files like controllers inis or your nintendont is corrupted, maybe try a fresh install.

I don’t have a controller.ini on the root of my SD card, I’ve tried reinstalling and using older versions of Nintendont from the releases section on the GitHub repo — each so far has had its own set of issues (e.g. not detecting USB HDD, flickering green and black screen on launch, scrolling issue like above). I used to d2x to reinstall IOS 248-251 as well. I also tried to boot via CFG — this time it launched Nintendont before going to a black screen before kicking me back to HBC. Going through USB Loader GX, attempting to boot any GCN game via Nintendont caused USBLGX to restart.

Previously I was able to boot vis USBLGX to Nintendont (originally set up sometime in 2014-2015) — my settings were accidentally reset by a friend (custom paths etc) and no longer working, so I’ve tried using the latest versions. Appreciate any and all help.

first off nintendont doesnt use any cios only the original ios 58 from the console itself.

so lets try and find some issues
what do you have connected to your usb ports? besides the hdd?
do you use some sort of usb hub?
does the menu not respond correctly if you only use the wiimote itself?
are your controllers official and not 3rd party/fake?

Did you release a new build?
Where is changelog?

Also, i had troubles with Pokemon Box: Ruby and Sapphire. (No, not the "I can't play Pokemon Sapphire in my TV" trouble)
When i select "Go to list" option into the box, the game freezes. I redownloaded the ISO 2 times and don't work. I tried in Dolphin and works, so it's not a ISO problem.

that is also a known issue, just dont use that option.

Not sure if here is the right thing to ask since I'm on a Wii, but this is Wii U board of Nintendont, anyway everytime an error pops up after Nintendont should be fully loaded and also my GameCube controllers don't work in Homebrew Channel and GCMM, only in Priiloader, is my GC compat broken?

Error message is on the Picture.

nintendont doesnt use any cios only the original ios58 from wii or vwii also nintendont is picky with 3rd party/fake controllers but if they dont even work on homebrew menu i dont know what to say maybe you installed some weird cios or something.

No, so far I know haven't installed anything and it used to work all the time. I'm not sure why my GC compatibility is broken all of a sudden.

I use the same controller I used before. The GameCube smash controller.

What can I do now?

there is no gc compatibility nintendont runs in wii mode, gc mode is a totaly diferent thing, if loading nintendont from homebrew channel is throwing an error then try deleting and reisntalling, changing sotrage device like another usb or another sd card or something.

I think my whole Wii is messed up somehow as I can't even use the homebrew channel using the GameCube controller to begin with.
So I loaded it up with Priiloader.

Some homebrew programs works with the GameCube controller and some don't. GCMM also doesn't work with the Gemcube controller even though there are GameCube buttons listed there so it should work.

Okay this doesn't mean the crash is related to Nintendont per se, but I'm starting to suspect it since it always worked before and has something to do with GameCube stuff.

My Wii also doesn't read disc's from the Wii Menu, but only read discs from discloaders like Neogamma and can play all I want without errors.

This means I actually have to submit an error support log or whatever it's called... There used to be in this forum somewhere? You can check your Wii to see what's installed IOS and other things you can check and post for help.
But I don't know the name of the program and post it in some topic. Been ages so it might even have been lost. Can anyone help, please?
Thanks. I'm totally lost now.

It seems that the sound effects are not playing when fishing in Doubtsu No mori+ (Japan). Everything else is working perfectly.
I suspected it might be an ISO issue, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I am hoping Nintendont finally gets the whole Super Mario Eclipse audio streaming issue fixed.

Or at least someone does a custom build of it with that gimmick.

extremz already said audiostreaming issue is with eclipse devs, they have bugged code, heck if your burn the game and run it on original gamecube you wont have audio streaming either, eclipse audio streaming only works trough sd loader and such so they have a bug somewhere in the code, its not healthy to make a bug a thing in nintendont.

Well, I'm hoping the Eclipse Devs would fix that bug... eventually.

i got a wii u with aroma, whenever i try to open a gamecube game i get "boot.dol not found!", despite putting the nintendont folder with all files in the apps folder...
