Hmm, I'm not sure what the problem could be then unless the FAT32 partition isn't marked as a primary partition.

NTFS actually wastes space for Wii games if you're using ISO images.
i use .wbfs files

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Try mounting the FAT32 partition in WiiXplorer first then return back to Nintendont, I know sometimes USB Loader GX doesn't list my Wii games properly and falls back to GC + Nand instead of just GC + Wii, but mounting first in WiiXplorer seems to do something to help keep the partition mounted / active.
whats wiixplorer

If you're using WBFS files already there's not really any need for NTFS. Those can be split at the 4GB boundary and work fine.

Can you post a screenshot of your drive in Windows disk management?

Any chance of getting saves on a separate device from game images with the recent changes? If it's because of having two partition tables in memory I have an idea for a workaround.
I tried adding support for multiple devices in the kernel a while ago, and it resulted in tons of lag in games, plus occasional "An error has occurred" messages. No idea why.

Hi, I have a not very common question:

I've been developing a mod for Skies of Arcadia Legends with an old computer that used Windows XP. A couple of months ago, I finished the first verison of it, and made several test playthroughs on Nintendont, and it worked perfectly. Nintendont was capable of playing the modified ISO with no problems, and each small update I was doing to it worked fine, never had a problem with loading the ISO through Nintendont or putting the iso on a usb Device (I used DML Converter to pass the ISO to the usb).

A few weeks ago, that computer died, and I'm stuck with a Laptop using Windows 7. Since then each time I try to put the iso into the very same usb devices I used back then, the game stops whenever goes to black, or just does not boot up. Not even a clean, unmoded iso of Skies of Arcadia. Doesn't matter if I just drop the "game.iso" file or if I use DML Conv, it just does not work.

Of course the dump I have is verified as correct, and as I said, I've been working with all this for almost a year having no problems until I had to switch to Windows 7.

The question is: Is there something I should know about Windows 7 that is causing me problems? Do I need to format the usbs for Windows 7, even if they seem to work and are recognized without problems? Do I need other steps to put isos on the uSB so after I load them on Nintendont? Could be the Laptop?

It's driving me crazy. I'm considering installing Windows XP just because of this.

I know probably nobody will be able to answer this, I just wanted to try anyway.

only happens with this game? all other games work fine? try deleting any controller.inis and ninconfig.bin files on the root of your device being it usb or SD. also make sure your not forcing any options besides maybe mcemu if your using mcemu that is, levaue everything else in auto or off.

I formated the USB (Cluster 32KB), installed a clean version of Skies of Arcadia using DiscEx option on DMLConv and got the same problem. It either stays black after selecting it, or goes to black after loading a save file.

I'll look into the SD (Where Nintendont app is stored).

Other games seem to load fine. and I even "installed" a different one and it worked fine (Ultimate Muscle, if it's important).

The problem seems to be Skies of Arcadia, I tried several USBs, all of them suffer the same problem.

The worst part is that this problem didn't exist before at all.

also why are you converting isos? just use the full 1.35gb iso with md5 matching redump. theres no convertion needed, shrinking the isos has less compat since some games are picky.

I thought so. My idea: save the game saves to the NAND as a Nintendont save and have the PPC loader swap them out to /saves/ before starting the game if they're not the same game ID. (It looks like there should still be NAND access while the game is running.)

please take a picture fo your nintendont settings.
Also you should look into the usb since that is where the ninconfig or controller inis are stored since from what i understand is where your isos are.

Patch Pal 50 Off

V4.419, Firmware 58.24.32

And as I said I formatted the USB when I tried this last time, so there was no Ninconfig or anything else, just a folder with the game's iso.

EDIT:

I just tried again by using the 1.35GB image instead of converting, no ninconfig, no controllers.ini; black screen. Nothing. Makes no sense.

try turning mcemu to on and try again, also are you sure the iso is md5 checked with redump and a full 1.35gb iso without passing it trough DM?

i think its preety safe to say nintendont cant keep up with 2 devices at the same time and games take too much to load their assets and then an error has ocurred message.
The weird thing is this was merely enabling multi-device support, not actually using both devices at the same time.

Yes, clean ISO. The same I've been using for a long, long time. Black Screen, not even the Sega logo.

And I'm not new to this; I already said that I've been working with this for almost a year with no problems.

Iso being 1.35GB, no conversion? Loaded, playing, working perfectly.
Iso being shrunk? Loaded, playing, working perfectly.
Modified ISO? Loaded, playing, Working perfectly.
Clean ISO? Loaded, playing, Working perfectly.

It's just when I tried to put an ISO in this new computer when I started having problems and that's why I asked things related to that.

I don't think that's safe to say at all. :P Just because it hasn't been implemented doesn't mean it can't. GerbilSoft came across the same problem I did when trying to do it. Have you tried it? ;)
