Yeah, and it also happened with basically every other modern console release as well. This isn't just a switch problem, it's a problem with mass production

Yea except Nintendo thinks dead pixels are A-OK and we're just supposed to deal with it....

Yea no, if I buy a phone and it comes with dead pixels you can bet your ass I would return that shit faster than an attosecond
Kinda ridiculous the length of damage control people go for Nintendo
Wait, you're ok with Ninty doing it but not a phone maker?
THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS REEEEEE

Honestly I'm gonna hold off until there's at least a second revision. Knowing Nintendo, this won't happen until two years later or more, but it's worth the wait considering it'll most likely have a good library by then.

I never bought a single console on launch day anyways.

I'm not saying it's okay, I'm saying people only seem to give Nintendo flack for problems that exist on every other platform

I don't hang out in MS or Sony forums so I wouldn't know. But it would be kind of weird for hang out here on gbatemp and give MS and Sony flack, don't you think?

My advice is to never buy a console at launch. Zelda can be played on the Wii U with little difference to the switches handheld(720p) mode and the problems that are plaguing users right now need time for sorting out. That is if Nintendo sorts them out that is.

Being an early adopter is a risk that you could feel the burn from for a while if you guess wrong.

I think this is funny. Both my PS4 and Xbox crash pretty regularly. Hell, the PS4 has a stroke with Netflix on occasion. The con troller occasionally lags behind (nearly identical to the left joycons issue) plus when PS4 launched it was roughly 500$. No game included. Then if you wanted the camera accessory that was what like another 80? DS4 controllers are still about 60? But Nintendo is literally Satan because idiots managed to break it?

Take some of these bad reviews lightly. If anyone has ever worked retail/electronic repair or something, you know consumers are often idiots and often lie. "MY PHONE BROKE FOR NO REASON!" Well ma'am it appears to be wet. "NO ONE TOLD ME NOT TO TAKE IT IN THE SHOWER. IT SHOULD REALLY BE WATERPROOF. I DEMAND A REFUND."

Regarding the xb1 crashing, mine acts just like your everyday Windows machine.
It needs its weekly reboot to avoid it behaving funny.

PS: PC also crashes with gusto.

You should get the Switch, but as well get warranty, screen protector, and a carrying case.

At the end of the day, dead pixels are normal. Whether your picky asses agree with it or not. It's a common problem plaguing LCD panels.. for a LONG ASS TIME. Not that difficult to understand. If yours has more than a couple, then yes.. it's a problem... Which is why I buy at a place with a decent return policy.. Which means not that shithole Gamestop.

Oh, and he somehow thinks Nintendo is a Chinese company. Face palm.

Really good drugs is the only explaination for this.
Nah, no drugs I don't think anyway, probably just an overreacted imagination? I just wasn't sure tbh myself I know in the past I have bought memory cards from PCWorld and it says manufactured in the uk when they should be Japan or China etc.. I was just going by that I probably should of just checked the box properly before posting. The Co. is actually Japan Headquarters, my bad sorry!.

There has to be damage to control first. AFAIK like 99% of Switches have had no dead pixels whatsoever. If mine had any of course I'd return/replace it.

This is the kind of advice that can make failure a self fulfilling prophecy. No one bought it because they thought it would fail, it failed because no one bought it. The thing is there has to be early adopters, there will always be defects at the beginning but if no one buys it then the chances of them being found goes down dramatically which means they'll never get fixed. There would also be a lot less of an incentive to fix any problems that are found, why fix something when no one is going to buy it in the end anyways?

I have the money saved up, ready to buy the Switch and Zelda but this video make me wonder if I should buy it now or wait...

Does this stuff really happen? Is the Switch really that buggy and glitchy?

None of these issues have happend to my switch. The only issue I had was when I put on the joycon strap the wrong way and had to use quite the amount of force to get it out.

I have a switch (no left joycon problem, even at 5m behind a wall corner, no dead pixel and no weird screen stuff)
I don't recommend you buy a console on its first year if you don't want that kind of problem but I suppose it's the minority, I have 3 friends with one, none of us had problem.

I don't know about you, but most of LCD/IPS compagnies have a "dead pixel number worth of returning", of course you can afraid the resselers if he don't know that but on most LCD/IPS equipement, if you don't have like 3 or 4 dead pixel, you won't get shit returned.
