Nintendo expects the Switch to continue strong for the next few years, has "strong lineup" of upcoming games

dsdadsdsa.png

Doug Bowser, CEO of Nintendo of America, discussed the Nintendo Switch and plans for the future, in an interview with the Associated Press. Even though the Nintendo Switch is seven years old now, Bowser is confident that the console will continue to perform well, with Nintendo "feeling bullish" about sales. According to him, there's also a "very very strong lineup" of games coming soon, teasing that Nintendo will plan on supporting the Switch for years to come. Beyond that, when asked about whether or not Nintendo has a "Switch Pro" in the works, he simply responded with, "One of the things we look at always is how can we surprise and delight. How can we introduce new unique ways of playing. That´s always in front of our mind."

I should be careful about what I personally would like to see (in a new Switch). But what I can share is that one of the reasons that even going into year seven we feel very confident that the Switch can have a strong performance over the next few years is that it is still truly that unique device that you can play in a variety of ways, at home, on the go. One of the things we look at always is how can we surprise and delight. How can we introduce new unique ways of playing. That’s always in front of our mind.

If only they'd make an add-on to play DS/3DS card games on Switch "2" and why not GB/GBC/GBA cartridges, too! It'd sell a ton!
Tell them I want a DSwitch so I can finally play DS games on it. They can later as a follow up give us 3DSwitch then New 3DSwitch

Maybe in that other multiverse where Michelle Yeoh is the president of NIntendo, instead of news of her Oscar win it was her announcing this

We are coming up on the 5th Anniversary of the rumor about a "Switch Pro." Hilarious, right? All those years ago "experts" like Modern Vintage Gamer assured us it was coming. It never came, there was NEVER any effort by Nintendo to promote such rumors, and there is no Switch Pro on the horizon. And yet there are 6 pages and counting of comments here.

And there are 123 million of the consoles out there (better sales than any Microsoft console, and better than any Sony except the PS2), and it has consistently outsold the PS5 this entire time. Criticize Nintendo all you want. They nailed it with the Switch, whish is still going strong.

Of course they will say that. They need people to keep buying it so the new Zelda sells well too.
Even if there is a new console or Switch revision around the corner.

The next Switch will have Blast Processing™. So, you know it's going to be neat! And it's going to be half as powerful as the PS4 too.

I was planning on buying a Special Edition OLED Switch of Zelda TotW, 'cept, the trailer really killed the hype for me. :(

I know I sound like a broken record, but it just looks like DLC for BotW. :(

Majora Mask's looked like DLC for Ocarina of Time.

Also the game is based on the same engine as the launch Switch Zelda game and costs ten bucks more.

The day Nintendo wisens up and makes a Steam Deck competitor will be the day I gain interest in Nintendo back.
You can already be happy today, why not? There are plenty of Steam Deck alternatives. You don't need Nintendo to be happy.

Maybe you want all the Switch games to run perfectly? For that you do need Nintendo.

New Switch will come just like New 3DS did.

Actually in a sense it did, OLED could have been called New Switch but I guess there is something more powerful that they reserved the name for. By the way this announcement probably means New Switch won't be coming so soon. It's probably more an internal company politics thing, to stop the noises calling for New Switch to be released.

Faster load time has been my wish since day one. It is really the only thing other than skipped frames. Both could have been fixed years ago with a New Switch.

The New 3DS was just an improved 3DS so you could say Switch Rev. 2 and the OLED are the "New Switch" without the silly "New" brand.

Switch is a great Nintendo console. Nintendo's best console? I'd still say that goes for the legendary SNES.

As far as good games that would be fondly remembered Switch is not there (being the best) yet. Time will tell.

There is enough good games for Switch to be fondly remembered. Just whether it is the best being questioned.
Yes, but Metroid Prime 4 has been announced years ago and made available for pre-order, yet nothing about the game having a release date. Or just an update about it with some gameplay footage.

Doesn't seem unrealistic to expect it on the next Switch.

As long as it results in their next console being up-to-date with the others.
They are either born old ( using matured tech ) or they have something innovative ( not very hopeful ) that the others don't have. Don't expect Nintendo to care about being dead last by a good margin in HW specs.

Be happy if the nand speed get some badly needed upgrade ( will probably still be dead last ).

I am starting to feel like Nintendo really just has no idea where to go from the Switch.
Ideas is a dime a dozen. How many ready to execute plans should Switch start to die and if any of them be good enough is the question. If they have no plan then that is a gross negligence that no management can survive. You can probably sue if you are a share holder.

@Xdqwerty No you heard wrong, and don't believe till you experience yourself. Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games of all time. Yes it had issues early on, esp with older hardware like the xbox1, but it is awesome, esp now being 4k on Series S/X or PS5

Yea you right there, fallout 76 was a letdown, but it not that bad now, they have fixed slot of issues they had at launch. Biggest issue with Fallout 76 is its a pay to advance further type of game, which sucks
