With the recent release of TWLTool to downgrade and be able to hack any DSi that exists right as of now, as well as being able to run DSiWare on hacked 3DS consoles, it'd be nice to have a place for all the DSi-related development on the site, whether it's homebrew or tools for DSiWare (Such as tools for editing various games). Could this be a possibility in the near future, perhaps even just a single subforum of the Nintendo DS section?

Its an great idea! The Nintendo DSi have got a diferent Operating System than the Normal DS (lite or Fat), i think one of the reasons why DSi didn't have a "Universal Softmod" is because we didn't have a lot of dedicaded developers who want to exploit the DSi (comparing with the 3ds .... and the New 3ds)

I think GBAtemp will have no problem creatting a new room for the DSi Users and Modders :)

An entirely new section is not needed.
Posts can be made seperate by using [] in the title.
E.g:
"[DSi] Some Title Here"
People either don't know they should add that tag or are too lazy.

I recently decided to look up 'DSi Exclusives' and Gamefaqs was helpful as GBATemp doesn't have a section of its own but eh, it's a discontinued portable console. Sure there are folks wanting more out of it but most just run retail backups or upgraded to 3DS.

"not needed" Nothing on this site is needed.

The question people should ask themselves is, "why would a couple of extra lines of text in the forum section be such a problem"? Especially if it helps people find things.

Seriously, this is not some earth-shaking, transformative change to GBAtemp or anything. This is like 2 minutes out of an admin's time at most.

There really is no point in this.
The mods have spoken. Pestering them will just make them not make a section.
Yeah, probably not. Even with the new tool, I doubt there will ever be enough of an audience to merit a DSi section.
You can vote all you want, but this is not a democracy :tpi:
So instead of posting here, go prove that there is enough of an audience to merit a DSi section.

I do have a few things in mind, but I can't start a damn thing until I get my DSi back, which will be early this week, perhaps tomorrow, Tuesday at the latest ;)

Posting a poll may get people's voices
Also, speaking of dsis, I have to get mine fixed lol :P

Somebody added voting to this thread! Just voted: Yes. The DSi hardware is at least twice (or rather thrice) as complex as the NDS hardware. And Nintendo appears to have sold about 40 million DSi/DSiXL's consoles (going by wikipedia). I think that's making it worth having its own forum section, and it would be incredibly useful to have some place for discussing the DSi hardware.

Most interesting would be a DSi section with focus on "Homebrew Development and Reverse Engineering". Don't know if there would be too much interest in sections about (commercial) games, or translations thereof (as far as I know Nintendo never released any games that took use of the DSi's horsepower), flashcart's also don't seem to be too interesting to me (booting homebrew can be done via wifi or sd/mmc, and in lack of commecial DSi games, even pirates won't have too much use for DSi flashcarts).

There really is no hope. The staff never adopts ideas unless they come from the staff themselves, and usually about once a year at that.
