Recently just purchased a wii u. I read all of the stickies and some threads before i decided to post. I have a few things that are unclear. Can an exploited wii u play wii u backups? I already have a soft mod wii, is there any reason to do the same to my wii u? Any risks on being online with the wii u once its exploited?

There's no way to play Wii U backups. You can only play Wii Homebrew right now from what I understand.
