Your best bet would be to buy Cubic Ninja, as getting smashhax is a bitch to do (from what I've heard). I would recommend Ocarina of Time, but you need a power save or access to the Homebrew Launcher prior.

Dont update anymore, just wait for a new way to downgrade on 10.4 - 10.7
It wont take that long i suppose. Also, make sure you have an access to the homebrew launcher like Supster131 said

You can already downgrade on 10.4+, it's just no longer free starting from 10.6, as menuhax and browserhax were patched. You need either Cubic Ninja or Ocarina of Time for 10.6+.

If you're on 10.4 or 10.5, you can use browserhax to access HBL and downgrade.

Why won't Nintendo update their native firm. I mean I'm not complaining, but from a company standpoint, wtf are they thinking?

maybe they are giving up, i mean this fight is lost, they already wasted lots of time and resources hunting for script kiddies and whatnot
they need their devs working on the NX and other stuff, i don't see nintendo paying a team to camp on the internet, every week to check if hacks where released and to patch them..
gayway is no more a niche thingy to get money, hacks are free now. i mean, eventually the cat gets tired of hunting the mouse..

Yeah, currently 10.4-10.7 all use the same NATIVE_FIRM.

Nope, svchax is already ready to be used, but it doesn't have support for N3DS 9.5 FIRM (yet). You can downgrade on every firmware from 9.3-10.7 right now (except 9.5 on N3DS, I think, but that's not really a problem, just update to 10.7 and downgrade the old downgrader might work for 9.5, but svchax is a lot more stable..), and FIRM was last changed with 10.4, so 10.7 is just as easy to downgrade as 10.4, 10.5, and 10.6.

No. You need a CFW that won't let updates touch FIRM0/FIRM1. I suggest (Au)ReiNand (check the thread for further info about updating)

just tested on emunand 10.7 rxtools.

How did you do it? When I try to install NTR it says firmware not supported. I am running 9.2 sysNAND, 10.7 emuNAND.

Most people in this thread use homebrew on CFW or plan to. You don't come to the CFW forum and complain about everyone talking about CFW. Lol.
