I was under the assumption that Slot-1 enforces encryption for CTR titles, so I'm curious to see how their new "homebrew" feature works. Because at face value from what I know, it looks useless.
First off, zero key encryption which is what Gateway enables doesn't work in any other CFW. (because as far as I know none of free CFW out has any mode/patch that enables this. Probably because it will break retail cart booting)
Meaning you'd have to go through the trouble of finding a way of encrypting your homebrew using the official retail keys which is not a easy being that no one still hasn't made a CTR Encryptor equivalent to the CTR Decryptor feature of rxTools/Decrypt9.
So that means you'd have to own two flashcarts to use the homebrew feature because right now only Gateway mode enables zero key and you have to have a Gateway card (or a DTWO+ if you are feeling brave) to boot into Gateway mode. But then you can just run your homebrew on the Gateway card as well as your official games.
But perhaps they somehow managed to get zero key/unencrypted roms to run on this thing while in CFW. But I'm doubting it.
Homebrew certainly will not work on this thing on a 9.3 or higher sysnand. Unless they did some kernel hax voodoo.
