New Pokémon mobile game: Magikarp Jump

Just released like a splash, a new Pokémon game about raising, training and collecting Magikarps

What is this world coming to?! It's a Pokémon game all about the weakest Pokémon ever—Magikarp! Anyone can play this simple game in their spare time to create the most majestic Magikarp ever in this official Pokémon app!

In the game you aim to be the best Magikarp trainer and get back the glory of an old city that was known for raising these fishy friends! There you gonna find Magikarp with different patterns and train then to be give their best in jumping!
It's a free to play game with some in-game optional purchases of itens , decorations and stuff

Funny that the name name would make more sense to it's content on the series at all, the attack " Splash" Actually should be translated for hop/jump by the Japanese name, but they wanted to make it look more funny for this Pokémon on the localization, but maybe the translators of this game lost the joke? But this would be different from Mario Run, since he was known for his jumps, or Sonic Jump since he was know for his running ... Wait, what a mess mobile gaming are doing ? :v

UPDATE 2: So apparently you use Old Rods to catch Magikarp so you can compete in the 8 leagues of Magikarp Jumping. Yes, you read that right. You feed and train your Magikarp so it jumps the highest.

UPDATE 3: You earn JP (jump) points by doing the aforementioned activities. You initiate jump battles with other Magikarp trainers. The battles require you to just press a button which will just make your Magikarp just jump in the air. The higher the jump points, the higher the jump. The Magikarp that jumps the highest wins.


UPDATE 4: IAP are in the game and some ads as well which were visible in the title screen I've posted earlier

Not there nor on aptoide. I'm on 6.0.1 and it doesn't let me install. And then they complain about people dumping and exploring their apps...

Would be kinda neat if you could transfer your Magikarp to Sun or Moon and it would have the same visual design in that game as you see here (like that grey one with black and white spots for example). The better trained it is in the app, the better its stats would be in Sun and Moon. Silly idea, but it'd be pretty cool.

It's not silly, and it would be pretty cool, but there's only one Magikarp model in the game.

2 though in the game right? Shiny and normal? Lack of models isn't something that couldn't be altered in this day and age, just push an update for Sun and Moon that would add more designs for Magikarp for those that would transfer their pokemon from this game to their copy of Sun or Moon.

I believe they're the same model, but with different textures. If every Magikarp in this game has the same look, then they could actually release a patch/update/DLC for SM with extra textures.

Oh yeah I assumed that these Magikarp would be the same model just different textures. I mean that's what that picture of the different textured Magikarps was indicating to me anyway.

I thought, this sounds like a Flappy Bird clone, but looking at that gameplay it looks even more boring than Flappy Bird
