So apparently you have to open the cart to access the switch. Sure, most people probably would not need to switch back and forth but it just seems like poor design. I am going to assume that the decision was made so they could keep using the old cases as is instead of making a new one to accommodate an external switch a la Ace3DS X's.

To change the mode we need to dismantle the R4 ??? :(
Yes, but it's easy to do with just a fingernail. The shells tend to pop off much easier than regular gamecarts.
Another one?

Placing the switch on the inside is a rather bad idea. Someone could end up wrecking the flashcart (chances are unlikely, but you know how noobs are).
It is inconvenient, but most users won't need to use the ntrboot feature more than once.
I actually plan on buying this cart. Mostly because need a new R4i Gold and I might as well have this one instead.
I do too if the price isn't $5 more than the original.

Srr Im not english, I dismantle the r4 but after to put the r4 in the cartbridge, it's easy ?
Idk. But I suppose that it's not very hard if the card is similar to other flashcards (tho you must make sure that the pcb is in the right position when putitng it back together).

if one of these companies wants to stand out, they need to make it work like this

SD Card inserted = DS Mode
no SD Card = NTRBoot Mode
I think that ace3ds X's solution with the switch on the outside is pretty good.

We might see many flashcart (other than Ace3dsX) like that in the futur, which I don't get why is everyone copying everyone. Also it's kinda ugly.

@NinStar, I miss Iwata. He was a great asset to Nintendo.

he was a great asset to gaming over all. He were a great programmer. He probably made the launch of Pokemon to even come true, thanks to his custom compression for the games to fit on a gameboy cartridge.

    now that's an interesting question

    @BigOnYa I have a xbox question
  • S @ salazarcosplay:
what would be a reason why a 360 would turn off right away
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Ok shoot
  • S @ salazarcosplay:
I had not used it in months, worked fine back them, then I tried using again and it shuts off after a minute at the most
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Most likely its overheating, prob needs new thermal paste on cpu/ gpu. That stuff after years dries up become crusty n no longer works to transfer the heat.
  • S @ salazarcosplay:
besides that could there be other reasons?
  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa I was thinking of running the bad update to get the dvd key then use to flash the dvd drive
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Doesn't sound like it if it worked fine before, other things to check is visually check USB and hdmi (if it has) ports for damage.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Other possibility is a bad power supply block. I'd start with replacing thermal paste, cause if you never have, it definitely needs new paste.

Tencent just injected a shit ton of money on Ubisoft and got way more rights to the IPs.

Guess things were worse than they wanted to let others know
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@salazarcosplay When it shuts off on its own, does the power supply light show red or orange light? If its red, most likely bad power supply. Orange is normal off, green when powered on, red is a fault.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Everyone's giving that game repo attention and it just feels like an among us clone
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Even after turning on, then wait for it to power off on its own, then what color? If orange then normal. I'd start with repaste. Most likely just overheating.
